Truly a perfect news alert
i think what we may be learning in all this is that the brand was not successfulโor at least, not nearly as successful as the weavers represented

Uncle Nearestโs cofounder may have cornered herself in court. The sloppy saga of the boutique Tennessee whiskey brandโs federal receivership took a few more twists and turns last week, and buddy, ainโt none of โem looked good for Fawn Weaver, #ThePeoplesCEO (self-avowed.) On Wednesday, court-appointed receiver Phillip Young asked the court for permission accept a $2.59-million offer for the firmโs Marthaโs Vineyard hype house, which Fawn and husband Keith Weaver had bought with lender Farm Credit Mid-Americaโs via an unsanctioned LLC. Then on Thursday evening, Young filed a brief revealing that Fawn had freely copped to moving $20 million in loaned money from UNโs account into that of a supposedly unrelated company she controled so it โcould not be snatched byโ the receivership. He argues that this proves the Weavers were improperly commingling assets; Fawn countered with a 141-page brief of her own claiming (in so, so many words) that the cofounders did nothing wrong and the person actually damaging UN is Young himself. What's $20 million between whiskey frenemies? Judge Charles A. Atchley will answer that question and more when he rules whether to either terminate the receivership or expand it. Stay tuned!

UPDATE: The $20 million that Uncle Nearest's embattled cofounder Fawn Weaver openly admitted in court to trying to hide from the distillery's federal receiver came from Jay-Z's investment firm.
lol jesus
heavily armed country where the median adult reads at a 6th grade level and has a personal or household firearm, currently gripped by sectarian violence and propaganda-addled paranoia against neighbors... hell yeah let's get these things in the sky asap
the rw project to inoculate american "professionals" against the labor mvmt & class consciousness has been wildly successful, and this sort of career cannibalism is the endpoint. the only way to defeat this is rapid and aggressive union organizing. unions mostly are not doing what's necessary.
perfect timing, this country's commercial air transit system has never been more safe and secure, i say go for it
and yet the left still wants to "defund the police"... really makes u think
"The Colorado-based company now expects net income of $144 million to $190 million for its current fiscal year, compared with an initial forecast of $201 million to $276 million. Analysts polled by FactSet were looking for $234.7 million."

"This comes after a remarkable [NYT] report that highlighted a history of alleged physical and mental abuse inside Noma from 2009 to 2017. A decade later [...] former workers say Nomaโs founding chef, Renรฉ Redzepi, 'has not acknowledged the extent of the violence they say he inflicted for years.'"
that's DEI, to me <3

The flyers were paid for by the Democracy and Justice Political Action Committee. Chris Woodfin, a lobbyist and attorney with Woodfin Law in Williamsburg, is listed as the organizationโs treasurer and counsel. Cordoza is also chairman of the similarly named organization Justice for Democracy. Woodfin confirmed that both of those organizations and a PAC formed last month called No Gerrymandering Virginia are clients of his, but said they were otherwise unaffiliated. Initial large donor campaign finance reports showed that William Fralin, a former Republican delegate who represented parts of Botetourt and Roanoke Counties from 2004 to 2010, had donated $10,000 to Justice for Democracy. But thatโs not correct: He said, and Woodfin confirmed, that he in fact donated to No Gerrymandering Virginia. Large finance reports totaling $10,000 or more are due within three days of the donation, but other campaign finance reports wonโt be available till April.
OK so it looks like former VA GOP delegate/white guy William Fralin did *not* in fact fund this race-baiting mailer; he just donated to some of the same guys who did lol:
"[A] disclosure form provided Monday by the PACโs attorney identifies the person behind the PAC as A.C. Cordoza, a Black former Republican state delegate."
bret spiner in independence day
roadkill bob wanted to hire the lead scientist from 'independence day' to head up the government's prestigious new rubella restoration unit but unfortunately that was actually a paid actor so he's pivoted to that other guy now
