I 100% believe this. My mother, who's about to turn 70, has been playing these murder mystery hidden object games for 10+ years now. Only type of game she plays but the mere fact that she plays them despite being very anti-tech is amazing. I'll always make sure she has a working computer to play on!

I've managed to refurbish and calibrate my Vectrex and I also bought an old 1980 CRT TV a couple of years back that I troubleshooted and fixed with some help from people I know. It's scary, but perfectly doable if you've read up and stay patient =)

That said I feel like most things that aren't a broken tube SHOULD be fixable =)

I had a Dell Trinitron monitor I had to chuck. It was extremely bright and you couldn't get it down. There was a firmware hack I tried but that just made it behave weirdly, couldn't find a single person having fixed that exact model (other models you could solder in replacement components).

In what way is it worn out? If it's out of focus it can probably be adjusted! CRTs are very scary to work on though but the older I get the less I have to lose😅

Could you be using iCloud VPN or something and Bluesky simply has locked down session to IP addresses? A colleague inadvertently used this which caused a similar issue when we were debugging something ^^

Watched someone play the first couple of minutes of the intro part to Stray and I swear on my mother if I ever play that game I'd die of a heart attack. That's how much pet health PTSD I have in my bones 😅
