In the words of @nostalgicthing.bsky.social, surprisingly woke (for the standards of the DJs of that era, he is).
I'm surprised too, and glad he didn't go full Tory or even worse π.

Intrusive thought: in a universe on which the R1 DJs doubled as advisers, would Batesy have said that in support of a Labour Party that was still under Neil Kinnock? And who would have our (not) beloved HANDS PETER supported?
We won't have to ask Mike Read because we already know the answer.
Morale of the story: never mix #TOTP and the news unless you want something like that to happen. Or something like this π:
Yeah, that sounds like a more reasonable choice π. Paying nearly 5 quid for alioli is a bit too much.
The Strait of Hormuz is open for transit
Phil Collins holding a katana in a Japanese garden, behind him is a piano with a Sumi-e set on top.
I'm afraid you'll have to make your own alioli, then π
. Hey, at least you'll feel some extra satisfaction and burn some calories in the process, haha.
(Or you can spend Β£4.25 + postage if you don't live in London. brindisa.com/products/ali...)
Imagine all the sob stories featuring Keiji next to a pot of paint ππ
Will he replace the pot of paint for a bamboo twig or a kabuki mask this time? π
Guy who quit mining right before a huge cache of already cut gems meme, guy is labeled "ashamed of posting today's cringe" gems are labeled "tomorrow's bangers"
Never give up

In an alternate universe, Phil Collins becomes a samurai and a Japanese guy sings about heartbreaking stuff next to a pot of paint and tops the UK charts.
It does, but the result will definitely be worth it π. In the meantime, you can always use the commercial version. I don't know if it's that easy to find in the UK, though.
Commercial alioli is basically a garlic mayo which tastes amazing with roasted chicken π. If you want to stick to a purely traditional recipe, you'll need a mortar and pestle as well as two ingredients: garlic and oil (well, some salt too).
Oh bummer! I thought this post was about the song from SNAP! π« Then, I found Brian May playing guitar next to the Grim Reaper and my brain entered the WTF phase π
Oooooooohhhh, you know what you're doing ππ. Have you tried gambas al ajillo? If you like garlic, you should give that dish a try.
By the way, happy Doctor Who episode discovery day to @fubsyshabaroon.bsky.social and all of those who celebrate it ππ₯³.
(After liking some episodes from the Ninth Doctor era, I decided to watch the old series from the start. Needless to say that I failed miserably at that.)
The best moment of the week without a doubt. It seems we'll have good editions this week.
Enjoy your pizza when it's ready π!
Absolutely true, especially considering the following around it after so many years π. #TOTP
I agree with you, but I guess that YouTube has to do the bare minimum in terms of describing its content π
. To us, it's more than a TV programme, but the guys at Google only see it as such.
Are you ready for tonight's #TOTP, by the way?
The search bar from YouTube. I typed the letter T and the following suggestions appeared: 1. Top of the Pops (programa de televisiΓ³n) 2. tengo un plan 3. the very hungry caterpillar 4. theremin
It's Friday and YouTube knows it π #TOTP
Roll on 8:00 tonight

Who needs a Hopkirks vs Peter Powell when Powell can be a Hopkirk himself? ππ @nostalgicthing.bsky.social
Indeed they were π. Hands weren't enough for him, I guess
TRIGGER WARNING: contains Peter Powell wearing shorts and existing next to young ladies π #notTOTP

Oh wait, they do ππ¬
Ideal if you want to laugh for a few minutes. Definitely more interesting than whatever the guys from Zoo were doing, but the lady in the white dress in the audience was one of the best dancers, tbh.
A work of art that wouldnβt take as much these days with all the editing software we have available. Props to the editors from that time! ππ»ππ»ππ»
