Then again it breeds a different problem - "brain drain" to DC and the experience taking too long to get, so that you end up with pensioners being the most adept at winning the "big chairs" on top ;)

This seems to be a big part of the problem Democratic Party is in - too much focus solely on the Presidency, treating Congress and Senate as a kinda unwnated accessory to that (and as a result losing them after 2 years) and ignoring lower levels.
And with "third parties" are even worse.
So where is the alternative? New parties did emerge in the US history, and were viable...
But at least looking from the outside and on the conversations, while a lot of people unload on Democrats, they do not seem to actually support anyone.
USA! USA! USA!
Planning to check whether the Devil is dead, or whether he rise again?
That picture is not from Iran AFAIK.
Moreover, Trump's actions will not bring any relief to the more liberal city dwellers who are opposed to the theocracy the most. At most they will turn Iran i to a failed state with cities collapsing and power of the religious extremists growing.
As it happens, while usually despised by critics and audience as unrealistic and too dumb to be believable, quite a lot of real world events follows it...
Difficult, yes. But it was fone, repeatedly, even in the US.
But nobody seems to even try in earnest.
Cynical take: You have nowhere else to go, because there is no other viable opposition in the US with universal enough appeal. Isolated single issue groups will not expand to catch enough votes and are not even trying because it would mean compromises / adding "buts" to their one single issue.
So where are any real alternatives?
It is popular to unload on the Democratic party, but if the people are so deeply dissatisfied with them, that should be a hotbed for a new movement.
Where is it? What is the core message?

More importantly you will have daily scheduled public professions of hate towards select public enemy of the day.
Nah. She would have been a pretty much middle of the line President hobbled by a narrow margin in Congress and likely a minority in the Senate, she would not have inclination or power for any radical steps.
HOWEVER...
I doubt y'all will be in any of the current hot messes.

But will they react by "I don't want this, so let's do something"? Or by "I may not like this, but politics is too confusing and I don't care about that and besides both sides and besides the guy in the TV says this is fault of other countries so what can we do..."?
TBH people who voted for him are less of a problem than people who did not vote and now skirt on the "Not my responsibility" wave. It's the "I don't care about politics" the authoritarians ride on.
Translation: "We thought we were supposed to get this oil!"
Good thing the Congress is not alive to see it.
That is something GOP worked out and on for decades and it paid off, while Democratic voters tend to grant slim majorities for presidential election year and then log off for midterms and let the GOP have it for a prolonged time. You need to build margins in your voting block.
No. The trick is to have enough votes in the first place that whatever you want does not hinge on two or three people with questionable leanings.
Because that then means the few firebrands you already have can work on getting actual majorities - that will in turn demonstrate it can be done.
"The dems" did, or "the Senator who was widely praised as the next best Progressive thing by Democratic Socialists" did? ;)
The trick is getting enough votes in both chambers that few individuals dropping out will not kill the things you want. MAGAs got the idea, you did not as it seems.
Shrug. If it was "wrong AI information", does not remove the guilt from people approving and executing the strike. It just puts it on the AI company as well.
So after launching a war to distract from Epstein Files now Epstein Files are going to be released to distract from the war?
Remind me who spent years and hundreds of hours on Benghazi? :D
