Great to see it finally published! I've tried it during beta testing and it works great! Users of v1 will feel at home right away!

We are delighted to share our vision in #RSCChemBioy of how to incorporate natural product discovery (and any drug discovery) into the framework of personalized medicine - drug discovery using patients, but not in patients! #natprod #secmet pubs.rsc.org/en/content/a...

Lovely C&EN @cenmag.bsky.social story on the history and personal impact of the cancer drug Taxol. After spending recent years deciphering how yew trees, our source for Taxol, synthesize this lifesaving drug, it’s so nice to see it in the larger context #secmet #medsky
Plants are amazing chemists.
Ah, a nice continuation of their previous Paenibacillus-mediated bioconversion of Pseudomonas lipopeptide (which I already like a lot); now, characterization of enzymes behind the process
In our latest preprint we report the unexpected discovery of Epi-STR, an R-stereoselective ortholog of the S-selective canonical Strictosidine synthases (STRs). Found in the rather obscure plant Pogonopus specious. This work was led by my stellar student Clara Morweiser!

So cool. Greg Challis shows that a methylenomycin precursor is a better antibiotic than methylenomycin itself. This is in S.coelicolor A3(2)! Probably many similar examples yet to be discovered of pathways intermediates being useful, but consistently overlooked. #secmet
