i don't "use hdris", i don't "look at the waveform while grading", I EYEBALL IT. and if the comp doesn't look cohesive, I KILL MYSELF.
I don't want to make it personal, but I wonder how many people jumping on AI trends with a photo of their fursuit just because it's "cool and fun" would replace their maker with AI if it somehow had the ability to generate physical things
photos or drawings into larger comps, why would you pay someone to do that when AI can do that for you?
I guess it makes me think about the direction that furry media will take and how much we as a community want to not only safeguard but empower artists
...or want to keep up with the meme before it "expires".
Part of me wonders if that's due to a perception of what "real" art isβlike people will continue to commission drawings and photo sessions because that's still quite ingrained into the culture of the fandom, but if it comes down to turning...
i guess this trend specifically has been making me think because it's pretty close to what I doβcomp work is what I like doing, from fursuit photoshops to 3d and VFX, and this trend pretty much indicates people would rather just generate something with AI because they're "bored"...
I get that it's just a stupid meme and a lot of these furries who are posting it still continue to commission human artists, but it kinda saddens me that some of my mutuals got caught up in the jangling keys and went for it
i know the debate around ai in the fandom is endless and just saying "i don't hate it" can probably get you cancelled, but even as someone who sees some (keyword some) legitimate uses in genAI, I wish people cared more about the things they made rather than just having hopping on an ai slop trend
for those who haven't seen it yet, there's a trend going around twitter where people are ai-generating "photos" of their sonas or suits as a figurine on their desk or packaged up in a box on a shelf
help there's something wrong with my batch of sona figurines
i get a lot of questions on how i do something like this and while a Blender tutorial is definitely in the works, I figured yall would like taking a peek behind the scenes :)
