I support this. I love loop. It's very rare a loop causes the problems, they're either me or some factor of the data I hadn't considered (also me). If I ever have to care sure lets vectorise. But most of the time, I love loop.

We took our instructions to “go out and play” to the nth degree. Often cycling or skateboarding 10 mile + trips to try out big hills. Then returning home pretty battered and would never let on quite how far away we were.
Same. Our one instruction during school holidays was “go out and play”. What that entailed was purely up to you.

Being quite militant about it has been actually helpful. Sometimes a transcript of what was said is fine. Or a recording. But not the deck solo (and speaker notes don't count).
