Being extremely reliable is a trait that others notice even if they don’t say so out loud.

Highly prized, both because it is rare and because it is valuable.

It’s something founders rarely are, but hiring people like that can help make the company great.

Innovating Into New Jobs You could find yourself out of a job by adding a ton of efficiency. If you automate everything, maybe you won’t be needed anymore. Maybe you won’t enjoy what’s left to do anyway.

Sure, try boosting efficiency all the way.
Until you find yourself out of a job.

But that's okay.

Innovation is found in new jobs, and you might enjoy those better anyway.

That's something else I see: LLMs do better on established projects with a lot of example patterns it can follow.

This is useful to read. I hear of people creating their Claude instance one level up from their main project.

Everyone Wants Progress For digital creatives, a weekly post on developing those other important skills.

Along with the week's article, the Everyone Wants Progress newsletter on Saturday morning will have my personal encounter with "The Wing Economy".

Listen. My son spends his free time creating games on Scratch, drawing animations, always a creative project.

Showed him MacBook Neo. Wants the yellow one.

"It's like owning a Gameboy Color and putting it in your pocket"

(!!!)

It makes no sense!
But it makes total sense.

Say what you will about a given (non-fiction) book…

Whether it's good,
whether it's well-written,
whether its ideas have been covered elsewhere…

If you're a person in motion, learning, juggling ideas, needing to be reminded of old and new angles…

Then most books are gold.

Didn't go much further with this experiment.

I was trying to create a 3d model from which I'd create realistic pngs to shade the front of a paper book spine.

Describing the mesh to Claude got it to spin its wheels.

That's not quite how the spine of a hardcover book is supposed to be modelled

MacBook Neo is quite the flex for Apple.

This isn't a compromised product. They created a new body and new internals. An iPhone chip alone can't justify the lower price.

Its competition: other iPads, Chromebooks.

Such a flex.

Being in business has little to do with school.

If, however, you still love models and theory, be sure to keep that interest alive. Win at business, keep working on theory. Win independence, then invest.

And then teach us what you've learned.

I’m currently reading about "deliberate play", a counter to "deliberate practice".

Lately, coding with AI assistants has brought me a lot of satisfaction, and definitely got me into a mode of play.

Anyway, I know the transition is hard for some, but that’s been my experience.

GrammaCrackers on YouTube does Minecraft videos and she is adorable.

But I suspect that she’s really a lifelong comedian.

The meme is too good.

Trivial Work You can now build your ideas faster than ever. You can do something that will get you a result quick. You can automate and delegate and make the difficult disappear.

To escape trivial work, make progress by making small but hard commitments. Build muscle, have difficult conversations, keep your word.

Because it's easy to do trivial work, but you can't do that forever.
And big goals might leave you exhausted anyway.

Batman and Robin are going to be joined by The Riddler.

Questions:

1. Should I be scared?
2. Are Brian and Justin having a child?
3. Will it cost me to change my weekend plans?
4. Is it still going to be a conversation between the two actual panel hosts, or their AI avatars?
5. Can I be invited as a guest?
