Agree with the folks who said having a community of writers helps a ton— I always write most/best when I’m in a group of other folks writing! And having short writing prompts— writing small stories of any length between 100 and 5000 words— helps build the muscles to write longer stories.
Yeah the surgeon kept apologizing that he couldn’t reconstruct them as large and I was like NO THIS IS FINE BELIEVE ME. They’re like a DDD now and I will never get my boobs stuck in my pants zipper again!
I got my boobs replaced with fat tissue from my belly and now they’re a lot less dense/lumpy.
I had a prophylactic double mastectomy, I have no idea how much my boobs weighed but I was an N cup after breastfeeding my kid and had very dense tissue. 🙃
Density has less to do with the weight and more to do with the ratio of mammary tissue to fat. More mammary tissue=more dense, harder to see anomalies because they’re more opaque to imaging technology, and also more prone to cancer because cancer forms in the mammary tissue, not the fat.
When it comes to indie comics, your peers aren’t your competition. Wishing failure on them won’t make it easier for you to succeed, and it will just make you miserable, which then becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and poisons you.
The thing that got me over most my professional jealousy issues is when I realized just how random success can be. Comics are hard and everybody has to figure out their own way to do it, and every success story is a triumph that proves it CAN be done.
My dad came from M O N E Y and his mother and stepmother did not work. But my maternal grandmother had an absolutely wild job— she was the official chaperone to Miss New York and accompanied her to her appearances around the state & country. Later on, she was an interior decorator.
When I was a kid, a big part of why my mom didn’t always have a job was that we had up to five extra kids (5 cousins, 7 total kids, including me and my brother) and sometimes my mom’s much younger sister, living in our house on and off.
She worked part time on & off til I turned 9, when she went back to school while working part-time at her university to pay for her grad degree, and then full time until she hit retirement age.
My parents, who ~were~ the type of family one would expect to see on a sitcom, both worked for the vast majority of my life. My dad had a full-time job at a bank, my mom worked as a law clerk part time until around the time my brother was born when I was 2, then again starting when I was 5.
