I don't think fantasy authors or game designers are beholden to LotR. I think they're beholden and brainrotted by D&D and the highly specific and nebulous D&D-isms that make every indie dev believe that we just need *one more* fantasy RPG where elves, dwarves, wizards, and rogues loot a dungeon

I can vouch for DaVinci, Krita, and Blender. All fantastic programs that work perfectly and often have way more features than you think you may need.

Out of the 3, Blender has the steepest learning curve, but also the most utility

Reminds me of a certain video where someone tried to make that explicit claim, after citing Severance and ABA conditioning, because the back of the book claimed you can do whatever you want, but the book itself lacked some rules. Therefore: evil corporate mind control.

It was incredibly tedious.

I can't tell if this person has way too much faith in people to run games without adequate rules, or too much spite for designers whose main goal is to do whatever they can on their end to make the game run smoothly.

Is wanting the game to be fun to play another malicious incentive structure?

Twitter doesn't even have that many active users for there to even be nearly a billion views on anything without spoofing. Who the fuck thinks there's that many people actively viewing their posts, but not engaging with the site in any way?
