Didn’t intend on disappearing for so long, but wanted to come on to say that I’m continuing my unintentional hiatus.
On Sunday, one of my big brothers passed away unexpectedly at the age of 28. It’s a huge shock and is going to take a lot of time to process. #rip

Well that certainly is *an* interpretation of that myth. Sisyphus, famous for his success at overcoming things...

It's amazing how much I still feel called out by this moment in the Good Place.

Try this:

Go outside and turn your head so one ear is pointing north.

You can hear Canada laughing at us.

It makes me sad but also so angry because somehow my parents have turned into Trump supporters, even my Native mother πŸ™ƒ I feel so bad but also they voted for this in my case? It feels like a constant battle because they’re SO blind

Current read: Femina by Janina Ramirez.

I am visiting family and haven’t had much time to read or post but have been enjoying this book immensely! The hidden women of the middle ages often lived powerful lives despite the world around them. Excited to finish it sometime soon ❀️ #BookSky πŸ’™πŸ“š

Say what you want about Kendrick but the fact that people are figuring out what β€œ40 acres and a mule” in 2025 is why any education to black history is important, no matter no big nor small.

ICONIC: Yosemite National Park workers just hung an upside-down American flagβ€”THOUSANDS of feet up on El Capitan. That’s not decoration. That’s a distress signal. They’re telling us the country is in danger. Are you paying attention?

I'm really worried about the national parks losing their staff. There are a lot of people who are discouraged to do bad things just because a certain presence is there.

Not to mention how many parks are around, in, or partially through rezes... The land and the People don't need this.

Truly phenomenal. The importance of language ties directly to our culture, to our power. The fantasy elements in this story pulls it all together. The diversity is amazing, and the ending will throw you for a loop!

This story beautifully weaves itself over centuries of historical events and places + includes a delicious slow burn. I typically don’t care for romance but I truly enjoyed this book a lot!

Teen girls can make the most unique narrators, especially those struck with obsession and affected deeply by assimilation (or lack thereof). The horror part of this book was hard for me, but the rest was amazing!

I can’t say I’ve ever hated a narrator more! Yet this book had a chokehold on me. Seeing a cowardly racist thief of a woman suffer psychologically through this thriller was incredibly satisfying to read.

I LOVE a good book about unapologetic female rage & when men suffer for the harm that they put women through. This was fast and had an amazing little plot twist! The power of dual POV shines in this!

I love how the perpetrator wasn’t named, and how there were no excuses for any of the men in the book. The emphasis on knowing the victims is something we hardly see in real life, let alone fiction! #BookSky πŸ’™πŸ“š

I will have to check out your writing! As a nanny and aunt, I am always looking for books to suggest and read to the kids in my life as they grow older.

I would love to be an ARC reader! I fear I don’t have the platform it takes to be one, although I would love it.

Many Natives will gladly oversee caretaking of our own original lands your government stole called β€œNational Parks” if it means we can live there, hunt there, and exist there without your interference or policing. We don’t want capitalism.
