Yes. Anthropic has made $5bn in its entire existence up until March. It also spent $10bn on compute. It's raised $60bn (with $30bn of that arriving Feb 12), which suggests other costs - or prepayments/deposits for compute are brutal

in-n-out
the "extraction shooter" genre, or as i like to call it:
i had concerns about whether marathon would be enjoyable as someone who is unskilled at PvP. the answer is yes because what it turns into is alien isolation
surprise! weβre streaming slay the spire 2 multiplayer for a bit! come hang out:

I love that one of the factions in Marathon is evil McDonalds
If the Dems who win in the 2026 midterms get squeamish about prosecuting this administration, we'll need to elect a bunch of new people running on Nuremberg shit for 2028. This isn't a joke. It's the law. It's justice. Biden let Trump back in the WH and this happened because Joe didn't do his job
youβre telling me the number of people playing marathon is more interesting than actually playing marathon and seeing for yourself how the game feels??
youβre telling me the number of people playing marathon is more interesting than the bass line in re.sortβs album closer βsatellite towersβ??
why report on steam charts when we could instead report on re.sort, the seminal experimental organic/digital ambient album by sora released in 2003 which set off a chain reaction of influence touching every great artist and producer of the past 23 years?
It's *ridiculous* that we are losing sight of how many people have looked at or played a thing because we give ourselves over to capitalist number crunching. the capacity of your local small music venue is less than 300 people but when that fucker is packed it feels like the whole world is in there.
(this is not an βimpostor syndromeβ or βi feel bad about myselfβ thing, to be clear. i just recognize where my work sits and where the work i admire sits and i want to work to close that gap for both the good of myself and the people iβm lucky enough to have watching or listening or reading)
iβm sure if you follow my work at all you know what my output looks and sounds like. it is decidedly not what luis is advocating for here.
iβm hoping that slowly, with enough time and effort, i can find my version of this and make something that feels enriching on both ends of the stage.
this piece is an absolute slam dunk re: what do we owe the βreaderβ as a singular person with thoughts and feelings vs what do we owe the βaudienceβ as a number on a chart that must grow to appease external factors divorced from good criticism
i fell asleep on a train and when i woke up donald glover was yoshi
the world can change so quickly, and always when you least expect it. hold your loved ones close, and take advantage of every minute.

agreed!!!!
you're allowed to like opera and ballet!! i ALSO like opera and ballet!!! timothee chalamet isn't saying that you're not allowed to like opera and ballet!!!!
he's saying we don't prioritize it societally as we once did. do SO many people really disagree with that????
when i worked as a projectionist at a movie theater over a decade ago, we'd sometimes do ticketed livestream events directly from the Met opera and guess who showed up: literally between five and six extremely old people.
you're telling me opera has gotten MORE popular in the last 15 years?
i feel like i'm losing my mind reading people's reactions to timothee chalamet saying ballet and opera aren't mainstream art forms anymore.
is everyone just pretending to not understand his point? there are MUCH better reasons to be mad at timothee chalamet than this, folks!!!
doing Marathon solo runs as Rook where you just drop in, spend like two minutes grabbing as many auto-sell loot pickups as you can, and then jumping out is honestly pretty fun
POD BEEF
I don't know what the word for it is but Pokopia is the type of video game where the discovery of little things like animations and dialogue quips is like half the appeal.
It reminds me of point-and-clicks where you live for the little gags or bad endings, or a game like Flock or Stanley Parable.
extremely good book!!
