Poor finishing and decent shot stopping kept the narrow lead, but NYRB could easily have 2 goals through the first 20.
Hardly noticed Kerr and Etienne coming in for the 2nd, neither providing much positively as yet
The Saloi goal is just a wonderful bit of magic between he and Mihailovic, just playing a two man game against 4/5 Red Bulls into an exquisite first time finish.
I have had the end result spoiled, but it's a first half that felt like TFC survived and grew into more than dominated and capitalized on
Had to pause at the 32' mark and watching the rest on delay
NYRB still looking the more in-control side, but really like Kuscevic and Monlouis stepping in to passing lanes and looking to find Mihailovic and Saloi on the break
Emilio getting involved as well with a few neat touches and passes
Michael Bradley's NYRB with the better of the play early, JMR forcing a scramble of saves out of Gavran.
TFC finding a couple of decent moments on the break, but this flurry of set pieces are ones Gavran will want to quickly forget, and Toronto will be grateful to get through without conceding

Nervy moments from Gavran here in stoppage times, shades of the worst moments of the Bono era. Room for improvement commanding the box and claiming crosses especially.

TFC fighting uphill a bit early in the second half, Cincy in the ascendancy and now Walker Zimmerman heads off for a concussion substitution. Expect the young Stefanovic to take his place.
Other substitution saw Etienne enter at RWB and Richie move to LWB in place of Edwards
After the first half, I think we can definitively say Aristizábal and Kuscevic are *significant* upgrades on Etienne and Kosi.
Edwards is really battling, just about holding his own against a strong first half from Echenique, and you could see Osorio and Kuscevic offer more support as the half went
First half hour you have to say has favored Toronto, Aristizábal and Mihailovic linking up well with support from Salloi.
Cincy building back into the match, including drawing a yellow from Kuscevic with Denkey dropping deep to get on the ball.

Any but the most deranged of us sickos can safely take the early night, as Toronto FC head into the locker room down 3-0 and frankly I don't think the game was as close as the scoreline suggests

Maybe having only one center back and no ball winning midfielder makes defending difficult, but one would hope to see some tradeoff positively going forward, and there is just no life here going forward
