In the Trump first year and now into early 2026, the trans community has seen major healthcare reductions targeting it, most notably patients aged 19/under. Our team would like to provide some updates with where certain healthcare systems stand, and extra legal/social context.

An official letter from the Kansas Division of Vehicles dated February 23, 2026, with a redacted recipient address. The letter notifies the recipient that due to the enactment of Senate Bill 244, all Kansas driver's licenses and IDs must reflect the holder's sex at birth. It states that the recipient's current credential will become invalid immediately upon the law's publication on February 26, 2026, with no grace period. The recipient is directed to surrender their current ID to receive a new one matching their sex assigned at birth. The document concludes with instructions on how to appeal the notice if received in error, along with contact information for the department.

Kansas is sending letters to trans people telling them that their licenses will be revoked as of tomorrow and that they risk arrest for driving on a suspended license.

This is pure cruelty.

The fact that The New York Times is still giving Jesse Singal a megaphone to spew anti-trans nonsense is wild.

After the latest in Newsom’s transphobic attack to the US trans community amid his pres. campaign, we are reminded of what Michigan’s LGBTQ+ community drew us back in August.

Throwing queer people under the bus does not win elections. Even in America’s midwest, people can see that.

This is how you actually protect women and children, not by criminalizing trans people.

Did they really protect this doctor or fight to keep the program alive? Recall, they released trans patient data just a couple years ago.

Gender-affirming care is medically necessary, no matter how you bill it. And this is clear discrimination towards trans people.

The word is their lone doctor in this program had to leave the state for his own safety.
