Fair enough. Now it makes sense on why your (and the other person's) original post is saying that mentioning SBI is totally stupid.
It's that easy to have a conversation.
My view on SBI doesn't change much though. Regardless of its significance I haven't heard of any good reputation.
Okay, good day!
-I was curious on why you (or the other person) think that any mention of SBI that is derogatory should make someone's entire opinion worthless.
I think it's not that weird to concern about someone that says something against your interest (SBI's statement in my original post)
I'm not that much concerned about this dragon age issue. If I were to buy something in steam they are usually very generous at giving refunds, and there are many other fun games to play too.
Remember the first post I did here was asking an opinion about SBI. Because I was curious on why you think t
sorry maybe I should've used "monopoly" instead of manipulation
I haven't seen much evidence about the connection between consultants and localizers or translators, but I agree that this kind of thing is absolutely malicious and unforgivable.
The fact that he was manipulating the only way people could get these games is even worse.
Oh I thought you said they are the ones that took out the slurs.
Well, if what you're saying that things used to be much worse, then it's good that it gets better now (I know some horrible examples as well). But things are still actively happening especially in a game I play
What's your point? My stance will not chance on this topic. Someone changing things intentionally unfaithful to the original and passing it on as translation or localization is not something I will accept.
I don't care if the original has unnecessary slurs. I'm against censorships as well.
I may have phrased it badly. What I meant is bad changes.
When something changes, and that change made fans of the original work generally unhappy and it affects the franchise badly, it would count as bad change in my eyes.
Nobody is really benefited in this kind of situation
This includes influences like countries regulations, consultants, incidents, or localizers maliciously vandalizing the media intentionally
-never changing is true, and will still be true in the future.
While it's almost impossible to objectively tell whether a change is caused by consultants or something else, what I don't like is when an established title or series has to change things because of outside influence
That's a good point. This is what I wanted to mention here as well. A lot of people seemed to forget or miss the fact that it's ultimately the original owner or leader of the project that has the power to change the direction of the project.
I hope what you said about the "hit or miss" ratio never-
That aside. Regardless of how hard it is. Whether or not people can get into industries that they hate, the answer is, factually they can. So we can't really ignore the possibility
That "-7 days a week fixing this bug-" life you're referring to is the programmer or developer's life. And that is also generalizing the treatment of companies towards its employees. Does not sound like what a consultant do.
So people can actually get in industries that they hate
-that they maliciously vandalizes the media they work on intentionally.
I was not even giving my opinion in the first place. I was curious about their opinion.
But I don't agree when you said "you don't get into this meat grinder industry if you hate it".
While not exactly the same, It has been revealed that there are localizers that hate the media and the consumer, -
