These two were central figures at Stonewall a critical event in lgbTQ history. While some attempt to rewrite history, artists and arts organizations will paint a fuller, more complete picture of historical events and especially our shared struggle for justice and equality.
We’ve been thinking about this diptych, “Marsha P. Johnson & Sylvia Rivera Stonewall Warriors” by Carl Grauer from our fall exhibition Queering Democracy.
