I remember the days I went to crowded bars for St Patrick's Day. I am old now so I'm at Lyon Hall.

Boo-urns
It's so innovative to actively chase away a large percentage of your paying customers!
Wait, you mean there's nothing stopping me from trying some Irish whiskey right now? It's an intriguing prospect.
Bottles of Dead Rabbit, Redbreast 12, and Green Spot whiskeys
For #Virginia folks, Virginia ABC has certain Irish whiskey on sale 20% off through tomorrow. I saved on a few bottles.
A box of sushi and sashimi with some pretty flowers
After a bad experience there when they first opened we had avoided Sushi Jip. However we saw good reviews and returned last night. It was quite good! #clarendon
Oh that's much too late for me.
It's not their fault you're elderly
Yay! New West Coast IPA, and it's from @portcitybrew.bsky.social !
Boo, glass bottles. :-(
Jesus, it was fucking windy as hell on my walk earlier, it's supposed to get worse!?
Yeah it's just basically an extra room for the bar it seems like. Smaller whiskey selection (and liquor in general, I believe) but also doing food.
Also, O'Sullivan's Snug opened! Had a pint and a whiskey there. Much calmer atmosphere than the main bar.
A basket of pepperoni rolls and one of wings with a trio of ranch sauces.
Sliders with onion straws
We tried Wood & Iron last night, the new sports bar in Virginia Square at GMU. Service was good. I didn't care for the wings (too much hickory flavor) or the "pepperoni rolls" (too much cheese, not enough pepperoni) but the sliders with onion straws were great.
What?! I love the Pentagon City Whole Foods bar. And I miss the Clarendon one.
A bottle of Eagle Rare 10 year old bourbon and a bottle of Buffalo Trace bourbon
Virginia ABC in my neighborhood got in some allocated whiskeys (if that's your type of thing) - got the second to last Eagle Rare and a bottle of Buffalo Trace.
The snow is pretty. I am glad for it.
I have had a very frustrating and expensive experience with ME Flow this week. Just terrible. Thank god the weather has changed (our air con is broken, I've been miserable at night).
Hoping FH Furr does better. They can't exactly do worse. Especially since their first visit will be free.
Very jealous
Don't forget East Glebe!
Our upstairs AC isn't working (again). Hopefully they'll fix it on today's visit.
I'm missing my grill, too. Also a bit frustrated...I want to go sit outside somewhere to eat, but I ate too much at Harvey's and am so very not hungry.
I do kind of miss seeing the prices at that gas station.
(Even if they hadn't done that, I wouldn't recommend that hotel.)
The New Orleans French Quarter/CBD Hilton Garden Inn charged me $6 for water the instant I checked in and despite my request haven't refunded it.
Sure, my company will pay for it, but it's the principle of the thing.
i tell you what i keep being surprised when research on something like "who invented mayonnaise?" is an insane and complicated multicountry Saga but like of course it is
First song, first CD (for me as a kid at that time). Especially given my cyberpunk obsession, the raw singing, the lines about a bomb and a 16 gauge...hit me like a fucking mack truck.
"Once" by Pearl Jam on Ten. I fucking love that song so much.
FOR FUCK'S SAKE @kaine.senate.gov DON'T JUST RUBBER STAMP THIS SHIT
Sounds like a plan
Sigh. Work trips. Things are going great but I can't wait to be home. I used to think work travel would be so cool but I just want to be with my girlfriend.
