I mean don’t get me wrong, I love functional programming and immediate mode UI but our revealed preference is that we want component state and class semantics and keep recreating it in a way that is somehow worse.
i get that parts of making the computer do things can be exhausting/boring/infuriating. but i worry that we will have some problems down the road if we encourage the idea that you can trade away understanding the details. if they resent code so much maybe it isn't for them at all. idk.
