The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly framework
This blog post is an absolute nightmare.
No seriously, as long as people (devs, leaders, investors) pay money for this nonsense, it will continue.
Why not use the URL for that?
/login?redirectTo=your-element-or-page
Please put this behind a media query for prefers-reduced-motion.
True, while the article has valid points, the examples should not talk about modals and popovers.
Nice post!
I have a small suggestion: for code snippets, maybe add a button to copy the code. This is not just handy in general, but also important for accessibility โ something I learned from this interview with Kevin and Salma: youtu.be/QYkjgd6_s4o (14:50)
Great collection of new features! Unfortunately, most of them are not yet available in Firefox and Safari (which is why I don't use them for now).
.raccoon::after {
content: "watching Kevin's channel for many years";
animation: jump 2s linear infinite;
background: self-taught;
transform: expert-css;
@include frontend(friend);
}
Do the maintainers care?
What happened exactly after the update?
YouTubers reaching 1mio subs:
big party, screaming, donation special, explosions, bragging, storytelling, guests, ...
Kevin Powell reaching 1mio subs:
cool. :-)
I plan to write a blog post about why he is my favorite programming YouTuber (since 2019 actually).
I fully agree. Kevin is one of the few YouTubers who still enjoy explaining and actually implementing stuff. It seems that most have gone on the "ship fast with AI, don't think twice" bandwagon. There is so much to learn about CSS, and in fact most of what I know I have learned from Kevin (or MDN).
Top 8 Countries from which people access my portfolio website:
1. United States - 23.51%
2. Singapore - 17.55%
3. China - 8.46%
4. Germany - 6.27%
5. France - 5.33%
6. United Kingdom - 4.7%
7. Canada - 3.76%
8. Italy - 2.51%
I am really surprised about Singapore. Also, India ... where are you?
Yeah I can confirm it's gone. But it's really wild what's happening in the comment section now!
While it's good to remove these to a certain degree, they are also important for viewers to process what has been said, and (maybe more importantly) enable them to make a real human connection.
Nobody wants to listen to a robot.
(I am currently also editing a lot and trying to find a balance.)
If you haven't switched to Brave yet... why?!
About your solution: I don't think it's good to rework your component structure just to have a storybook component for it.
I would use mixins and don't have any other options in mind.
Modals with so much content that they need scrolling should become pages.
Is there actually any good SQL formatter extension for vs code? I have tried the first 5 that pop up in the search for extension, and they all have big issues. I am thinking about manually formatting the code for now.
Nice! I will give it a try.
Small feedback for mobile: I can always just input one letter at a time. I need to click on the next box before I can input the next letter. The game is much more usable on the desktop right now.
can we please call all these things just loop objects
Nice! I will also give it a try.
Nitpick: in the GitHub readme it should say SvelteKit 2, not SvelteKit 5. Unless you are from the future ๐จโ๐
inaccurate git diff for a sql file: in reality 3 lines were added as a block, but git thinks that one line was added to the previous block and 2 to the next block
Git is the best software in the world.
But sometimes, it does this, and I hate it.
Curious: What are the responsibilities of a DX engineer?
and I don't even know exactly what it is. Something with AI I don't care about, that's it. ๐คท
