@iskme.org is on a roll w/another reveal for #OEWeek2026: the Open Metadata Exchange!
The OME is a decentralized network enabling open education libraries to share and discover openly licensed resources and metadata across institutions while maintaining local control.

Open Ed Week is sneaking up on us, and there are many events to be had! For example:
on Monday 3/2 I'll be on hand for Open Oregon's very aptly named "Openly License Something" office hours, fielding whatever licensing questions you can bring me!
Details & Reg:
openoregon.org/events/event...
We'll showcase initiatives from our partners like the National Geographic Society, plus state ed. partners in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, US Virgin Islands & more.
It's a great opportunity for open education leaders and learners to advance work in the Open space & keep up a sense of community!
Heads up! @iskme.org's #OER Summit is April 29, 10:00am β 1:00pm PST! Free, open to all & a great chance to learn what's happening in the world of open education & how we can continue to grow this impactful community.

Hi nerdfighters and #P4A2026 broadly good to see y'all in the chat/stream! Feel free to HMU as you need :) -Peter
Screenshot of collections in the Digital Public Goods Library, a home for lost and at risk educational resources! Listed here are collections for the Peace Corps (112 resources), USAID (1608), CFPB (135), ApprenticeshipUSA (95), NASA (1791), ERIC (8089), LINCS (144), CIA World Factbook (254), and Voice of America (1451)
Ah, the joys of #P4A2026! I spent the first 8 hours of it listening/watching the livestream while also backing up ~1750 NASA resources to the Digital Public Goods Library, and now they're up!
If saving lost/at risk edu resources calls to you, vote for ISKME:

β¨Big Deal Announcement timeβ¨(it's a two-parter):
1) We've quietly been working the past year to find & rescue lost/at-risk educational resources!
2) you can learn more about it in our video for #P4A2026, the annual charity fundraiser youtu.be/83wzhtYFFSI

Our librarians have curated a collection of resources to help students of all ages and levels learn about important people and topics that relate to the Black experience, past and present, in North America and around the world #BlackHistoryMonth #OER
Blue text that reads "Happy Holidays from OER Commons Librarians! See you next year." there is also a blue smiley face, and a cc-by mark in the bottom right corner. The text overlays an image, obviously made in MS paint, of three yellow stars of various sizes and a green oval with red outline. It is festive.
Getting a lot of emails from different orgs saying happy holidays, so voila. As you can see, I am an artist whose talents are wasted in librarianship. :)
OER Commons is open, but our responses may be delayed because we're all so, so tired, and taking much needed rest. We hope you are too!
For all y'all who are thinking about expanding CTE efforts, a heads up that we just added records 1,016 occupational profiles from @careeronestop.bsky.social into @oercommons.bsky.social to help folks looking for information about different occupations. Have a look ππ»ππ»

OER Commons is free, for everyone, forever. That's by design! And gosh darn it, we're gonna keep supporting Open Education no matter what.
This year we could use some help making that happen. So if you've got a bit of cash to spare, we'd appreciate it. www.iskme.org/donate/
Thanks. :)

β¨Hi y'all!β¨If you haven't already, following @oercommons.bsky.social is a grand idea to stay in the loop about what we're up to broadly at OER Commons.
Buuut, if you've got reference questions the librarians have arrived! We'll help find answers & probably have a bit of fun along the way. π
