Film night returns, along with my health. This week, I’m enjoying Hammer’s Scars of Dracula, where our ‘hero’ is revived by a bat, who drips blood and brings him back to life.
Also stars Patrick Troughton, adorning some rather spectacular eyebrow wigs. At least I hope they’re wigs!

Who said romance is (un)dead?
For Valentine's Day in 1931, Universal Pictures released Dracula across the USA, starring Bela Lugosi.
Largely based on the 1924 stage play, it differs greatly from the novel and offers a more 'confined' version of the story.

I know von Däniken’s theories can be divisive, but learning about them at a young age, via my father, inspired my interest in science and astronomy. Hearing this makes me sad; it's another piece of my childhood lost to the confines of my memories.

Enjoying this, while waiting to restart ghost hunting. Some really interesting places I want to visit!

Shocked to hear the tragic news that Rob and Michele Reiner were found dead this morning. Rob, as I'm sure we all know, directed many cherished films, even crossing over to horror in Misery. Michele was a producer and actress who worked many times with Rob's films.
Bon anniversaire to the genius that was Georges Méliès (1861 - 1938), arguably the father of the cinematic experience.

Can I just offer my apologies for the lack of updates recently? This has been due to me having surgery, then followed by the cold from hell, then followed by a serious dose of food poisoning I'm still trying to recover from!
The sample issue is on its way, just a slight delay. Thanks, Tom
Today we celebrate the birth of Bram Stoker, born 8 November 1847 and who gave us novels, such as The Lair of the White Worm, The Jewel of Seven Stars and, of course, Dracula

However, she is fondly remembered as a public speaker, author and Princess Leia to millions around the world.

I've just discovered (albeit late) this rather lovely hardback #GraphicNovel of Dracula, published by Legendary Comics, starring Bela Lugosi.
It looks fantastic and is a wonderful homage to both the novel and the actor who became synonymous with the characterisation of the role.
