Frankly, disrespectfully π
After an intense scene a few days ago, I've been trancing the way I used to like 6 years ago but with more experience. I'm worrying less and believing things so uncritically. Suggestions are stupidly persistent. I just am like... Beyond thrilled.
Article: "Objectification and Passive Suggestions"
Objects don't move. Objects don't think.
We can use the framing of objectification to create extremely potent trances -- using suggestions that allow a person to succeed by being passive, like an object.

You can talk about all sorts of techniques and concepts that are meant to increase suggestibility in hypnosis, but the thing that makes a person most suggestible is when they really feel like they are allowed to respond completely naturally without filtering or worrying about "getting it right."
Will it ruin my mystique if this hypno musings account just suddenly turns into fawning affection for The Pitt?
Being into hypno kink is just an infinite Matryoshka doll of "Hypno is fake" inside "Hypno is real," alternating between them as fast as you can until you finally reach a state of quantum superposition.
TWO HYP CHICKS PODCAST S2E3

10 minutes talking highlights from Charmed, and a cool little 10 minute exploration on a few definitions of "utilization" -- my #1 concept for hypnosis (from Erickson)!

Slide says: "From my Jars" and describes three quotes: "Slalom and sway" "1950s TV store" and "leave your body."
Working on my class for Charmed next week and I present this slide, with 0 context:
"Those damn sexy catboys are taking back their toys and using them to further their control over your minds!"
Thanks @xlyph.bsky.social!!! I'm over the moon with how my commission turned out.
Here's to a year of better, deeper, and more profound hypnosis
I'm pretty much supply side, not demand. Usually. π
Nothing like a week without privacy to make you eager to melt some minds and wash some brains.
I'm a sucker for fun hypno pranks. One of my favorites is putting a volume dial on folks, which tends to be especially satisfying for the brats.
Mmmmhm. That resistance melts and you just know that every word is dripping into the ear.
Or watching their facial muscles slacken even when you're just moving closer to them.
We're very lucky to get so much unique stuff out of virtual and video hypnosis but I have to say that physically feeling my sweetie's finger pressing into my forehead and dropping me deep is just like. The best. So many years of hypnosis experience and a simple trance trigger does not get old
"I asked chatgpt--"
Shut the fuck up. I asked the Lady of the Lake, and she said you are unworthy of the sword Excalibur. You will never be king.
...as long as you know and respect that you haven't found β¨the thing β¨ itself.
And I think that's fucking magical and hot AF. I'm stirring the cauldron, but my partners can never really tell me with any certainty or clarity what's actually at the bottom of the pot.
Like the proverbial blind men, we're trying to describe an elephant by touching just a part of it. It's never the thing itself. But that's what makes hypnotic metaphor so useful. If you FAFO, eventually you'll stumble across something that's Close Enough that you can leverage it...
...there's a place where the trance hits something that exists below language. That weird, hazy world of purely mental constructs--the things that we spend lifetimes of poetry and therapy trying to put into words.
Had a wonderful #hypnokink discussion with a friend about β¨internal experienceβ¨. Since tists aren't mind readers, we can never really tell what's going on in a partner's head. Sure, there are signs and we can debrief later, but for most people...
Correct.
I am the one who tugs
Feel the strings? Oh, I bet you really could, couldn't you?
Every time I hear Michael Buble's "Santa Buddy," I just want to shake him and say that you don't get to no-homo findom Santa. If the internet has taught me anything, it's that if you want the sugar, you better be prepared to post feet.
"Make Some Noise" was always just a long con to boil the frog on getting people to watch improv.

Already missing Hypnovember; should I do more of those threads?
