I've written to my Lab MP about this. They know that many people care about trans rights and healthcare. They are pandering to transphobes out of choice, not because they have any reason to believe it's a good strategy.

Same deal with Boston to NYC. It's just under 4hrs by train from the middle of the city, no dicking around at the airport. Part of the problem is that American airports have bad transit links. Even if you take the train to the airport in Boston you're sat on a shuttlebus for another 20 mins

Your ego is something you will constantly battle against in the process of writing and serving your ego above all else as a writer will hold you back and make you worse. If you write to impress your desire to be liked will ooze across the page.
The best advice I have for writers is: the harder you try to impress people with your prose, the worse your prose will be. Sit down and try to communicate honestly, you will find the places for your flourishes and metaphors that actually serve greater meaning rather than your own ego.
