Finally, we've got Asimov, sunglasses off, quoting a line from the True Ending boss fight with Gunvolt exclaiming in disappointment how he viewed him as a father figure.

It's kinda baffling that the unlock requirements for VS Missions are so high in iX1, to the point where by the time you unlock them, you don't need them. I'm glad they handled it better in later games.
This is actually a benefit for score runs because it means an extra 1k Kudos minimum for the second skill finish bonus, and one lategame stage is outright impossible to S++ without it due to how the Kudos system works.
Also song levels are tied to the rate Luxia appears to revive bosses. At song level 3 it's guaranteed.
To be specific, the song levels are tied to reaching certain Kudos thresholds without the meter below the Kudos running out, and is indicated by the changes in UI. Song level 3 is also an active gameplay detriment because it adds more screen clutter by adding yellow effects on the screen border.
As for the higher difficulties, that's a postgame unlock.
Mute is tied to an Image Pulse, yes. In fact, the customization for the song levels are tied to Image Pulses, with the very puzzling exception of song level 3. That song level is locked to Traces and cannot be changed. The only way to not hear it is to mute song levels 1 and 2.
The ending is not great but it used to be substantially worse at launch. They literally made a patch just to explain wtf happened in the true ending.
Honestly depending on how substantial the iX OCW is, I might actually buy the LAiX collection

Your typical futuristic four-lane highway from the year 2097 with some reinforced walls and angular arches to make it look more futuristic, looking empty in the dead of night, except for a lone transformable mech suit called the Gunbike 97, currently doing a twisting power dash while in its robot form, starting to dissipate its power source called Anergy. Better take a sip of your Munster Anergy drink to keep up with the action!
The red and white Gunbike encountering a humongous purple spider mech with rolly legs and fast moving action, with its glowing red eyes leaving smearing traces of light as it's circle strafing around you and shooting a barrage of lasers at you, so you bet the boss fight is on!
The white Proto mech doing an elegant forward float while an iridescent shield is emanating in front, pushing and crushing a few enemy tanks that are all scattered about, turning their turrets and looking at each other in utter panic, not being programmed to deal with this kinda bullshit.
Ami in her white Proto mech standing in the middle of a snowy clearing with a large bulkhead door and a hidden base built into the high frozen cliffs seen in the back. Her mech hands and shoulders have transformed into huge laser launchers that are powering up to unleash a barrage of seeking rays and wreck some shit. Trust me when I describe that, because I couldn't manage to get a nice shot of the laser action as it all goes too fast. ๐
