Introducing the Emriver EmFlume1.5!
We've been building stream tables and flumes since 2008, and are excited to offer this new tool for teaching open-channel hydraulics and sediment transport.
Come see it in action (and the Em4 Stream Table) at GSA Connects in San Antonio, TX, October 19-22!
Emriver is exhibiting at the annual ASEE conference in Montreal next week, June 22-25. Please stop by Booth 1214 to see our new EmFlume1.5 in action!

Great article! We're happy to have shipped an Em2 to the Kansas Geological Survey a couple weeks ago. π We applaud the emphasis here on conversation, relationship building, and cross-pollinating ideas. Hope their new Emriver inspires much of the same! π

Emriver's ground mount solar array
Laisse les ensoleillΓ©s temps rouler! Today is our one year solar activation anniversary. π₯³
Our system has produced 19.31 Megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity, which Enphase says is equivalent to 13.8 tons of CO2 reduction, 231 trees planted, or 1.66 million phones charged!
There's a LOT worth knowing here "Coastal areas are especially vulnerable, not just because of storms and floods, but from rising seas and erosion. That includes one-fifth of Americans. The good news is that there is a lot we can do."

The tribes have big plans for what comes next. An immense effort [...] more than 17 billion seeds slated for planting and at least a thousand trees ready [...] Over time, the river will slowly turn back into the vibrant, free-flowing ecosystem it once was.

We're absolutely wowwed by these maps! A few years ago, Hungarian cartographer Robert Szucs poked around the internet for a global map of the worldβs rivers, one that categorized them based on their ocean destination.

Yay, fun AND learning?! Who could ask for anything more? π
Love the little dinosaurs, too!
This is so great, thanks @callanbentley.bsky.social ! We love to see it. ππ
Hurrah and more of this please! "This work prepares the river canyon for consistent river flows, likely commencing within 30 days, which the canyon hasnβt seen in 98 years."

Couldn't get this to post correctly yesterday for #FlumeFriday, but it's our latest fun time-lapse compilation of attending GSA Connects 2023 in Pittsburgh.

One reason among many that we emphasize keeping Emriver plastic modeling media INSIDE the stream table box!

LOLs from #GSA2023: asked in the exhibitor lounge "So what are you guys doing over there?" I explained our fluvial geomorphology in a box & fella replied "Ah, there was such a crowd I thought maybe you were running a craps game." π#emriver #geoscience #rivers #STEM
Heard as we exited the elevator at our hotel for #GSA2023:
{gasp!} YOU'RE THE STREAM TABLE GUYS!
Yeah we are π Booth 1010 in the Exhibit Hall - come see us.
Close as we are to St. Louis, always appreciate a nice gateway headline! π There's a VERY hands-on pic here of visitors at CSU Spur enjoying the 3-meter Emriver there. π Happy and ~safe~ viewing of tomorrow's eclipse, everyone. π

Screengrab showing dune development and migration in Emflume1.5
This #FlumeFriday we share a sneak peek of our new Emflume1.5 We're planning for it to be available to ship next spring! The hydraulic channel measures 1.52m and has a custom heavy duty wheeled lab cart for easy mobility. π the pretty dunes in this timelapse from RCEM.

Emriver Em4 (4-meter stream table) in University of Illinois Gary Parker Morphodynamics Lab
World premiere of our Emflume1.5 at 13th Symposium on River, Coastal, and Estuarine Morphodynamics RCEM 2023 at U of I! Rafael Tinoco got an Em4 last summer for the Gary Parker Morphodynamics Lab there, and has been putting it to great use with his students. π
Giving a wave ππ» in Idaho's direction! We love seeing posts from folks using their Emriver models. π
Next week we'll be making appearances at RCEM conference at University of Illinois -AND- Water Festival at Lewis and Clark Community College. ππ»ππ»
Yay, our first tag! Thanks, @geomorphrachel.bsky.social Now we're really here. Looks like a great set up you've got. π There's never enough time with an Emriver!
Introduction ππ» Emriver is a micro business in Carbondale, IL. (Go, Salukis!) We make emulated rivers... stream tables that demonstrate how waterways and landscapes interact and change over time, sediment transport, meandering, deltas, etc.
Solar powered since February! π
What's your favorite river?
