IMO it’s a bad thing that from July 2024 to July 2025 all British Columbia added fewer people that Ottawa, Calgary or Edmonton

every day he’s vindicated
Me whenever I see an article about oil prices
You can find people like this for literally every form of progress ever. When will we stop giving the opponents of progress disproportional media coverage?
I keep seeing news articles about opposition to Alto HSR in rural areas, and it's like, obviously. It's just a trade off
I want in in their group chat
For months the 4:30pm conversation is "I can't believe it's dark out right now, this is miserable, I can't wait for this to end". I don't care when the sun rises, it's dark when I wake up either way
Is #VictoriaBC the #cargobike *and* mobility scooter capital of Canada? #yyj
How important are local government housing policies?
They’re crucial.
Saanich and Oak Bay exist in the same economy as Victoria and Esquimalt. There’s no shortage of housing need.
The only reason they built so much less housing is because local policies prevented it
That being said, the BC health connect registry was completely useless and I found my family doctor by randomly registering to individual waitlists in my area
I'm one of the 11 percent that got a family doctor over the past 3 years! I'm very thankful for the work the BC NDP has done to make major improvements in healthcare. These things take time, and we're finally starting to see improvements
it's been 2 months since council's long overdue motion passed directing city staff to start posting updates elsewhere. I honestly don't understand, couldn't they have started the next day? what is the hold up?
Putting those under accomplishments is incredibly funny
I am SO MAD.

Figure out your political cope-green-onecity differences, check your egos, and find a way to unite and FIX THIS CITY. We literally will not survive another 4 years of Arrive By Car policy.
at least the most if not all the new broadway stations will have multiple exits!
I found this in my For You feed 🫡
Vancouver! It's snowing! If you see any buses stuck, please send photo and video!
Also incredibly unclear that they meant End of Day today, judging by the fact that they are sending out recruitment emails today
This morning in my local paper there were three stories in a row:
-the death of a local triathlete in a hit-and-run
-the death of a toddler in a stroller in a marked crosswalk
-a car plunging off a cliff
Watch out for yourselves out there, because drivers sure aren't watching out for anyone.
Cool! I actually just picked up a book with the same title
it's incredible to contemplate the volume of civic funding and effort spent appeasing:
- people who find the sight of poverty more offensive than evidence-based public health policy
- drivers who think bad traffic is a human rights violation
- residents who recoil from shadows like reverse-vampires
Better yet, why does a provincially funded school need municipal approval at all?
The response to the #TumblerRidgeShooting from far-right media, online commentators and even an elected official in Canada is another dark example of how pervasive anti-trans misinformation has become, even in Canada.

Get yourself a mayor that pushes back. PS Victoria has the highest per capita policing cost in BC

No deal. The BC Green Caucus will not be renewing the Cooperation and Responsible Government Accord (CARGA) with the BC NDP Caucus.
Today @emilylowan.bsky.social @jervaler.bsky.social @robbotterell.bsky.social announced that the BC Greens will not be renewing the Cooperation and Responsible Government Accord (CARGA).

In some jurisdictions they have regular pickup truck sized bin lifters that bring the large bins out to the street ahead of the dump truck, and then circle behind again to put them back in the building. You need some street space on garbage days, but it seems to work well!
Going into politics with the sole aim of removing "live, work and play" from every planning document in existence
Parents can’t wait.
It’s time for Childcare By Right.
Did you know: at least 1,240 Metro Vancouver bus stops don’t have benches for waiting riders! 😱
Working with our pals over at @movementyvr.bsky.social, we mapped out where weary soles are most in need of somewhere to sit: https://go.transit.app/vancouver-benches 🍑🪑
If you're not aware of Alec, you should be. Excellent stuff.
