And thanks for your kind words, Seth. Great meeting you.
@boskone.bsky.social has been a fun con so far, a workshops with @stefansecho.bsky.social from @skyboatmedia.bsky.social, a panel about the cozy side of horror, as well as tips and tricks for neurodivergent creatives. More to come!
If you're in or near Boston this weekend, join us at Boskone, sponsored by the New England SF Association, and say HI!
I'm a Special Guest, and will be involved in several events every day.

@stefansecho.bsky.social, beautiful work on this story. @giftogab.bsky.social was certainly right when she said she'd listen to you read a grocery list [updated from "phone book" for obvious reasons]. Oh myyyyy.

What a great story, sir! Two characters very different from one another + fun to read, and the 3rd, um, main character, who was SO great. (Happy to hear the info from the helpful customer service guy as well.) @stefansecho.bsky.social's reading was perfect but #3's rendition was just a riot!
Stefan, I and our crackerjack team Skyboat #audiobooks @skyboatmedia.bsky.social take tremendous pride in researching (and enforcing) pronunciations. Plus, Stefan is just a damn poetic genius and knows all these things from his dizzying academic and theatrical background. @stefansecho.bsky.social
Thank you for your support. We appreciate every single #audiobook you listen to; even if it's not one of ours. π Libraries are HUGE supporters of our art, and we are very grateful that they pay us well to spread the "word." @skyboatmedia.bsky.social @stefansecho.bsky.social
Great thread, everyone! Thanks for addressing some of the serious issues related to narration.
If you're anywhere within a 2-3 hour drive, you should check this out.
See ya!
Definitely one of my faves. Thanks, Dr. Sue.
It means you're well-read!
Wonderful, multi-layered story. Great characters. Not for the faint of heart. (consider that a challenge!)
Ah yes. Thanks, Sue. THE MISSION has received less media attention than it deserves, because the subject is politically volatile. Terrific book, and my fourth with author Tim Weiner, the ultimate researcher by interview.

Thanks, Johnny. Great essays. Loved reading them.
@isabel.kim, Thanks for your wonderful "Human Voices." @lightspeedmagazine.com's author spotlight was fascinating and gave background on the potential power of a voice. (BTW, I also found "deep ennui" on the one cruise ship I was ever on.) And bravo to @stefansecho.bsky.social's amazing performance.
Thanks Glenn. This "story" has become one of my instant favorites. Special format and all.
Just last night, this song by John Denver popped up on my playlist. Seems terribly appropriate today. Enjoy.

I have listened to that one as well. I usually listen to Ender's Game at least once a year. It is one of my favorites and quite possibly my favorite book of all time.
By all means, go for it. I guarantee it'll sound different to you. New revelations. Or...go for ENDER'S GAME ALIVE, OSC's dramatic adaptation of the events surrounding ENDER'S GAME. With an even bigger cast. Plus sound effects and original music, and a whole bunch of other features.
A few years back I had the pleasure and the honor of directing Diane Keaton reading Joan Didion's Slouching Towards Bethlehem. At a studio in Santa Monica. Sweet lady. She did a wonderful job. Wish I could promote her performance, but that version has disappeared. I'll miss her.
Thanks for the referral. But it should be noted that this is a multi-cast production, and there are a few other narrators involved. They are ALL terrific.
Thanks, Lonna for placing us in such great company.
Thank you!
Fascist occultism goes viral in Manish Melwaniβs spine-chilling masterwork, MAMMOTH (@nightmare-magazine.com, hauntingly delivered by @stefansecho.bsky.social).
It creeps from the shadows; inexorable as history, foreboding as myth
If you havenβt read it yet, you will.

See y'all there folks.
Looking forward to hearing @stefansecho.bsky.social again!
One of my fave #book podcasts is Australian: The Bookshelf. I've gotten some extraordinary fiction recs from hosts Cassie McCullagh+Dr. Kate Evans. I've never forgotten The Signal Line (B.Colley) or The Kingdoms (N.Pulley). Good to hear abt bks from elsewhere. #BookSky
