We have no idea how MPD is working with federal immigration authorities because MPD is deliberately not collecting that data. The FAAR Act would require them to collect it. It is an essential bill to protect immigrants in DC from federal abuse. The Council should pass it today

ICE just murdered another American in broad daylight. Congress cannot fund without significant reforms an agency engaged in this level of lawlessness. But that shouldn't stop the rest of the federal budget from passing. The Senate should strip DHS funding out and pass everything else

Today we celebrate how far we have come thanks to the work of Dr. King, and recognize how far we still have to go. My office marched in the MLK Day Parade this morning to honor Dr. King's legacy, and we will continue fighting to make Chocolate City the 51st state in the nation
