I’d think the same (and do the same when required).

Yes, the power of the RBF should not be underestimated 😁

I always make room for people who look like they’re about to make room for me. If not, it depends on my mood, but in general they gotta learn some manners, eh?

Das hätte ich jetzt auch nicht als langsam bezeichnet und ist weiter als ich je gekommen bin, aber ja: alles relativ! 😂

I had a hard time understanding how you can’t have a meter at all. We just have them everywhere in Germany as far as I know. 😅

But now I understand … if the water company just hikes up the prices far enough and if you make folks believe they’ll have to pay even more if they get one… 🙈

Argh. Autokorrektur mal wieder.

They could’ve started with the “take cover” part, though, quite a bit of text to read before you get there. 😬

Glad to hear it missed you. Hope the tornadoes didn’t cause too much damage. 🙈

Yes, it’s my favorite season! The pink ones are especially pretty.

I just checked my old pics. In 2021, the tree was maybe 1,20m tall if that. Now it’s grown to perhaps 4m (despite some pruning).

I think I planted it in early 2020.

Good luck with yours!

Thanks! It’s the same variety as yours and supposed to be self-pollinating, so no, I don’t have another one. Mine started blooming right away, but has only produced a single almond so far because of late frosts. I mainly got it for the early flowers for both the pollinators and myself, though.

Many of the books were what my parents grew up with in the 1950s, so they were very “traditional”. I think the authors meant well, but I internalized the messages a bit too well. 🙈

I love how different modern books are. ☺️

My almond tree would like to announce that spring has sprung!

(The forsythias have started to bloom which is the official signal even though they aren’t native in Germany. 🤷‍♀️)

I recently realized how all those children’s books I read back in the day have influenced me. They instilled that unhealthy protestant work ethic into me. They made me believe that changing your opinion was somehow wrong. They made me feel like I owed the world something.

What power books have!

Stupid question, but can you put them in the drier, too? Cotton should be fine, right? Worst case I can think of is they’d shrink a little.

I still haven’t replaced all of my rags and my handmade ones made from old cotton towels and fabric are already coming apart. 😬

I’m also using lists, and the notification function for a few profiles. The feeds often miss some posts.

Thank you! Yes, I’ve ordered them “in the green” from a specialized nursery.

We’re slightly ahead of you, most of our snowdrops are already done flowering, so now is the time to plant them.

I love them so much, I really hope it’ll work out this time! I’ve certainly improved at weed management!

Ugh, autocorrect again 😩

10.03.2026 20:35 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

I’ve just ordered a bunch of them, hoping I can finally establish them in my garden. They grow just fine in other gardens and in the forest, but my last attempt failed as I couldn’t get the weeds under control and the snow drops didn’t stand a chance against them.

33 years of tracking is so neat!

Well, they bloom later in the year… when flowers are tree-sized or something 🤪

Sounds about right 🤣

I wore those business pants with an elastic at the waist when I still had to wear office clothes. 😁

Working from home, it’s straight linen pants with an elastic. No going back to jeans for me.
