it's so easy to cease supporting this garbage rag
OndΕej Satoria, whose fastball is around 78 mph, pitches a remarkable 4 2/3 shutout innings against Samurai Japan, the best team in the world.
Pavel Chadim bows and the crowd erupts. As he leaves the field, he turns around to take it all in. His national team career is now over
One pitch changed OndΕej Satoria's life -- in Japan at least.
"Nobody knows me in Czechia. Iβm just a regular dude from Ostrava, but here they respect me and have me sign balls," Satoria said.
Tonight he faces Japan in his final national team start:

Five teams have officially clinched a quarterfinals berth in the 2026 WBC:
Japan
Korea
Dominican Republic
Venezuela
Puerto Rico
I was wondering this lmao
This certainly has to be an issue among pro soccer players in the US as well.

And I wanna give an h/t to the criminally underappreciated @jenramose.online for not only posting this piece into my feed but noting the much bigger and less visible minor league side of things.

SuaΜrez, along with other players and team officials, say any concern they have is more directed toward the younger, lesser recognized minor leaguers. They're often less equipped to communicate in English β and donβt travel with the same high-profile, privileged means that big-leaguers do. βTheyβre scared,β SuaΜrez said.
this is something I continuously ask MLB, the MLBPA, and teams about fwiw. I have not heard of any issues being raised on the MiLB side but I am only one person and there are 120 teams. (if you've heard anything, though β signal and email are in bio)
I have a lot of thoughts on this story, most of them being "yep, that sounds correct."
www.cincinnati.com/story/sports...
One member of an MLB team who did not want to talk publicly because of the sensitive nature of the subject said he fears it will take a high-profile incident involving a player, βsomething bad,β before the league gets more proactive in protecting its personnel. βI pray that doesnβt happen,β he said.
This passage, from the same story, seems like a far more accurate read of the situation. MLB only reacts. It's never proactive about negative or controversial matters.
true!
this is the strongest thing that has come out besides KikΓ©'s statement that have been uttered by Dodgers players ans coaches. SO I HAVE TO ASK AGAIN WHY ON EARTH YOU'D NOT PUBLICLY SAY NO TO THE WHITE HOUSE VISIT UNLESA FORCED BY ROB
Listen to the crowd pop for Darell Hernaizβs introduction tonight.
Apparently Eugenio Suarez had his citizenship application taken off the books because he's Venezuelan and his response was "it is what it is."
I should've planned better and been there for pool play

The tarp coming off the field at Hiram Bithorn Stadium
Monstrous roar from a sellout crowd as they started taking the tarp off. Looking at 8:20 ET tonight for first pitch on FS1!
