I can’t wait to have thousands more of these conversations over the course of the campaign. That’s how we make sure every resident knows their voice matters and their government works for them.

We have no time to waste—we have to take on these challenges with new urgency and restore faith that our state can deliver a better future.
We heard from folks about our state’s out of control electric bills, how immigrants in our city are scared to leave home because of ICE, and why we need more programs for our youth.
Our campaign is about listening, organizing, and fighting to fund our schools, bring down costs and protect our people from Trump. We did that work this week when I joined Hill leaders to talk with residents about how state government can make life easier.

It’s a beautiful evening to knock some doors! Grateful for daylight savings and what feels like (hopefully?) the beginning of spring!
Rain or shine we’re knocking doors! So great to talk to neighbors this afternoon about the future of our city and our state.

This campaign is about listening, organizing, and bringing people together to fight for a better future for our state. That’s why I’m so excited to knock on doors from now till the election in August to talk to neighbors about what our community needs.

I also shared my belief that the path to securing that critical funding should include working with our school districts on budget transparency. We need a significant increase in school funding this year and going forward so that every student can get the education they deserve.
I talked about why fully funding our schools is absolutely crucial for building a more fair and equal future where all our kids, no matter their zip code, can get an amazing public education.
The fight to fund our schools doesn't rest! Late last night, at 12:30am, I testified for more public school funding in front of the legislature's Appropriations Committee.

It was cold but we did it! Beautiful to see so many New Haveners running, walking, and cheering at this morning’s 2026 IRIS Run for Refugees. Support IRIS’s incredibly important work at Irisct.org/donate!
Amazing to see the community turnout at tonight’s immigrant defense organizing event at First Presbyterian Church. We’re so lucky to live in a city that shows up and fights back when it matters most.
Together, I know we can meet this moment to fully fund our schools, make our state more affordable, and fight back against the cruelty of the Trump administration. Let's go!

It’s the first day of Connecticut’s 2026 legislative session! Do you know how our state government works?
Never too cold to stand up to ICE. Proud of our community and how we stand up for our values.
The state legislative session in Hartford starts next Wednesday, and we'll need to be ready to advocate to make sure our schools are fully funded. See you there!
‼️Happening tonight at Edgewood School at 6:30: an NHPS Budget Town Hall where district leaders will share information about funding for our public schools. This is a critical moment for us to organize and get involved to fight for the funding our kids and teachers deserve.
It was good to see so many folks at last night’s meeting on the $300 million Bus Rapid Transit project. This is a transformative investment that will impact our streets and improve how we get around. Come out to discuss more on 2/11 and 2/12! Read here: www.newhavenindependent.org/2026/01/29/y...

We raised over $6,800 from more than 190 donors. This is a local campaign, powered by New Haveners. Every donation came from a city resident and none came from lobbyists.
During this race, I'm looking forward to sharing more about my ideas—and listening to yours. I care so much about our state and our city. Fighting alongside you in the legislature would be an incredible honor. There is a lot of work to do, and I can’t wait to do it, together. Let's go!
