She had been babysitting 4 of her grandkids when she was arrested at gunpoint. She was eventually released - on Christmas Eve - into the snow, in summer clothes, with no money, 1200 miles from her home (or rather, her family - she literally no longer had a home.)

What a nightmare! This woman was misidentified by AI & charged with crimes 1200 miles from her home. She was given no opportunity to prove her innocence until after she'd spent 5 months in jail & lost her home, her car & her dog.

A good percentage of the time when people move to a smart meter and notice higher than "normal" electric use, it's for a few reasons. The big one is that spinny disk has been running slower than it should for YEARS. Which means you've gotten free electrons all that time and now? You're not.

First. Your old mechanical meter. The one with the spinny disk?

This is what your smart meter replaced. I want you, if you have one, to go take a look at it and ask yourself two questions.

When did you get it and when was the spinny disk last lubed up?

An informative thread will actual facts that you can use to respond to mis/disinformation about smart meters..
