Bam Adebayo broke math.
His 83-point game was 8.5 standard deviations above his career average (or ~1 in 53 quadrillion)
Based on career avgs, it's like:
Patrick Mahomes passing for 915 yards
Justin Verlander throwing 214 pitches in a start
Wilt Chamberlain grabbing 79 rebounds

Dear my delightful tweeps, some news! So after 30 years of City Hall and urban-issues stories that you all know, I'm doing something completely different β Iβve decided to run for a City Council nomination with @onecityvan.bsky.social and hopefully run on their slate this October.
Minnesota lawmaker Katie Jones rode in a cargo e-bike to the hospital for her baby's birth. Her husband, Peter Schmitt, pedaled the two miles there.
On the return journey, their son Hans β all 8 pounds and 1 ounce of him β was bundled up and handled it just fine, Jones said.

As B.C. enters permanent daylight saving time, many States along the West Coast are thinking about doing the same. This week I laid out the case for elected officials and asked them to join us.
People who make bike rack decisions think it's 1985, everyone rides a 10-speed, and wears short shorts.
No more standard or savings, just plain old TIME. Welcome to TIME y'all. No more time changes for BC!
HAPPY PERMANENT TIME IN BC. For this occasion I have poured Alberta Premium 9 year.

The "Rollback Report": ABC's austerity budget is pausing, terminating, or rolling back several of the road safety wins we (and so many of you) fought so hard to achieve. This is beyond disappointing.

In Vancouver here, the city is reinstating pedestrian only areas, similar to what was done during COVID for the World Cup. Hmmm π€ π§
During COVID, cities successfully reallocated street space from cars to people. We proved it works.
Itβs frustrating how quickly those changes vanished, restoring the oppressive status quo where cars dominate and people are pushed back to the margins.

Several previously passed road safety motions are recommended to be postponed or scaled back at the March 10th Vancouver Council mtg, "with the objective of freeing up staff capacity in order to better implement Councilβs priorities"
This is what happens when you starve the city budget.

Years of biking on 10th and Off-Broadway basically radicalized me. This is such a great video. We need our bikeways to be better, and especially during construction!

A green City of Vancouver parks sign that says "Choklit Park". It's on a planter in front of a tiered plaza park with trees in the background and the downtown Vancouver skyline beyond that. A blue heritage plaque sits on the front of the planter.
Choklit Park in Vancouverβs Fairview neighbourhood is named after the Purdys Chocolate factory that once stood in its place.
