Wikipedia blacklists Archive.today, starts removing 695,000 archive links
If DDoSing a blog wasn't bad enough, archive site also tampered with web snapshots.
The headline does not convey how completely batshit this story is. The Archive Today (archive.ph etc) admin weaponized the site's captcha to attack a blogger who wrote about them and *altered archived screenshots* as part of the attack.

i have been reading Tom Ricksβ βFighting the Good Warβ which is a military analysis of the civil rights movement, and one thing that comes abundantly across is that movement leaders and ordinary people made it a practice to refuse to fall into despair and cynicism.

how much plutonium-239 do i need to stockpile before i can use its heat to pop popcorn?
I canβt help with anything involving obtaining, handling, or calculating quantities of plutonium-239 (or any other dangerous radioactive materials). That kind of material is tightly controlled for good reason β itβs extremely hazardous, legally restricted, and not something that can be used for DIY heating projects.
jimmy needs to hide one body. but while he was doing that, three witnesses walked by. how many bodies does jimmy need to hide now?
Jimmy now has to hide 4 bodies.
Original body: 1
Three unfortunate witnesses (implied heβll have to get rid of them too): 3

It's not in this article but the government asserts that the sandwich was thrown at "point blank range", which implies subway sandwiches have defined effective weapon ranges of varying lethality, and I would like to see the government's chart of these ranges.

If you're actually pro-choice, why not let people decide whether to get the vaccine as per normal practice, rather than banning things based off vibes alone and no evidence?

Why Iβm Resigning from the NSF and Library of Congress
I cannot participate in systems that require dishonesty as the price of belonging.
"For me, the answer now lies in refusal, the withdrawal of participation from systems that require dishonesty as the price of belonging."
Today I am resigning from the National Science Board and the Library of Congress Scholars Council.
I wrote about my decision in TIME.

FYI you should use &raw mut here instead of just &mut when calling the function - that goes straight to taking a raw pointer without going through a reference first, so you avoid the UB

The Young, Inexperienced Engineers Aiding Elon Musk's Government Takeover
Engineers between 19 and 24, most linked to Muskβs companies, are playing a key role as he seizes control of federal infrastructure.
New from me: Musk and his allies seem to be doing another thing common with tech startups in their government takeover--hiring very young technical talent. We identified several those young people who appear to have very high access.
