Pattern: Style Arc Hope Dress Fabric: Benartex Black & White expressions cotton The end of a gathered sleeve. The cuff is fabric folded over elastic.
New & improved cuff. I took out the elastic and added a narrow cuff.
Iβve been on a mending bender. The sleeves on this dress bugged me. So I took out the elastic & sewed on a narrow cuff. Much better. Not pictured, I flipped the collar on a dress shirt & fixed the brim of a black wizard hat. Nothing crazy but very satisfying. #garmentsewing #sewsky

Pattern descriptions can vary widely but I found this one accurate when it stated oversized. So glad I went down acouple of sizes and that I used the recommended yarn. Itβs so soft & squishy. #showmeyourknits #knitsky
My knowledge leans more towards socks. Any #knitsky folks able to help out @havenkt.bsky.social? π§Ά
Found round ceramic disks laying flat on a wooden desktop. The bottom two are yellow with a red center. The top two are navy with a light blue center. They were earrings but I swapped out the hardware. Now they are stitch markers.
Fabric pieces cut out with the paper pattern pieces. Folded and laying on a cutting table. Fabric is a dark gray black ground with white, yellow& light blue stars.
Fabric pieces cut out and folded on a cutting table. The wrong side is facing and itβs a muted tan. The flower & bird motif is slightly visible.
I was slightly productive today. Two shirts are cut out. I swapped out hardware on a pair of earrings to make stitch markers. Then I may have ordered some yarn for a new cardigan. π€«π«£π€ #garmentsewing #knitsky

I was able to finish this over the weekend. Used snaps instead of buttons (only had to redo 2). The construction on the front facing and collar/yoke is my new favorite. Iβm going to use it on my husbandβs next WBM Tropical shirt. #gatmentsewing #sewsky
Two bikes parked on a cobblestone driveway. One cargo bike from Benno & one e-bike from I:SY.
Itβs been forever since weβve done the grocery run on the bikes. Beautiful sunny day made for a nice ride. #ebike #cargobike
Yup, heel turns are still so satisfying. Your sock looks amazing.

A hand knit sweater in progress laying in my lap. The yarn is a denim blue. Pattern is the April Jumper.
Best kind of weekend. #knitsky #proofofcat
Highly recommend Adam Savageβs latest video!
He spent years using a bike as his primary transit in NYC and understands the freedom it brings. Nice to see a prominent voice validating that we don't need 4,000lb boxes just to navigate a city.
Absolutely insane. Light pollution isn't just an impediment to star-gazing, it actually kills, and not just small squirmy species. We are only beginning to understand the full range of night physiology and why we NEED darkness at night. #LAN #darksky @danidarkskies.bsky.social

That is an impressive collar. And the embroidery is amazing. It reminds me of 1950s style blouses.
Thank you. π Helen's closet patterns are well written so alot of credit goes to the instructions. It did turn out nicely.
Two front pieces of dark cotton fabric laying on an ironing board. The front pocket is sewn on to the left piece. Both pieces have darts. Pattern: Helen's closet Gilbert Shirt Fabric: Buttonballs Somber, from Art Gallery Fabrics

I'm making some progress on my latest sewing project. A nice crisp cotton for the Helen's Closet Gilbert Shirt. I'm debating on snaps instead of buttons. For the follow on project, I plan on a WBM Tropical Shirt for the hubs. #garmentsewing #sewsky
Thatβs gorgeous!
Hand knit sweater in blue knit top down. Still halfway thru the body.
Three hanks of super soft lambs wool in a marbled black color.
Iβve made a deal with myself. When I finish this April Jumper I can start a new project with the Sol yarn. #knitsky
Heβs probably got some maine coon mixed in with ragdoll. Heβs certainly fluffy enough for it.

Indyβs been enjoying indoor comforts this week. The weather hasnβt been up to his standards so heβs soaking up the central heating. #caturday #proofofcat
His mood improved after treats and a nap. Which I think applies to most of us. π

All of the buttons are finally on. 13 button holes. π Then I redid the collar. It wasnβt sitting right so I took it off, ironed it into submission then flipped it over before sewing everything together. Much better. Quality control seems to approve.

Almost finished. Just need to pick out buttons. Iβm not crazy about the construction technique for the yoke & collar stand but Iβm glad to try something new. #garmentsewing #sewsky
The whole project is clever but I especially love the zipper. The creativity used to create this and to think to have a way to open it up...π€―.
A deep pink yarn hand knit into a bow tie.
A corner to corner hand knit baby blanket in stripes of white and different shades of pink. It's laying flat on a bed with a white sheet. There's a stuffed sheep next to it, waiting to be wrapped up.
A light pink hand knit Sophie's scarf laying on a small wooden patio table.
A light pink hand knit baby cardigan. It has short sleeves and an offset button band with 6 round cream buttons.
A few of my pink knits. The bow tie was for a friend's very distinguished tuxedo cat (I wish I had a photo), the very first baby blanket I knit which my youngest claimed for his stuffies, the lovely Sophie scarf and a Beyond Puerperium baby cardigan. #showmeyourknits #knitsky

Slowly getting this shirt sewn up. Itβs the TAL oversized shirt. Iβm leaving off the in-seam pockets and using French seams. #garmentsewing #sewsky
Socks are why I learned to knit. I find them addictive. π
Heel turns on a flap & gusset heel. Itβs still so satisfying.
A long haired tabby cat laying on his side on top of a peach wool blanket. He looks slightly disgruntled.
I swear heβs purring. Happy #caturday! #proofofcat
