Vegetable biryani and garlic naan, from SWADI restaurant, an Afghani-Chinese fusion restaurant (which also served pizzas and stromboli) a couple blocks from @redemmas.org. The food was hot, fresh, and good; I was the only person in the dining room, possibly because the front door was locked. I had to go into the delivery-only side, next door, and ask about it, and the guy let me through a door into the dining area. He was pretty cute π; he seemed disappointed when he found out I was going back to Minneapolis in a couple days π₯²
(not pictured: the bottle of Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Shiny Top Coat I was soon to accidentally leave behind; it's my favorite top coat, and I got it at a steep discount π)
Photo of blank-paper notebook on legs wrapped in colorfully splotched leggings; on the left-hand page, marked '6', nothing. On the right-hand page, a date (3/6/26) and line ('Some Titles (as exemplars)') in blue ink; on the right-hand side of that page, a narrow column of notes written in red ink, topped by 'Welcome to Black Weirdo School' in an incomplete box. Because the left-hand page was reserved for the second page of the poem I'd started on page 5, and I wanted to take notes but was also working on some poem titles at the same time...
Photo of Day One books, including "America, A Love Story" (Camille Dungy), "Dear Dear" (Reuben Gelley Newman), "White Door" (Burgi Zenhaeusern), "wordtomydead" (sadΓ© powell), "Missed Connections with Tall Girls" (Gwen Aube), "Sick Sad Queer" (Ly Faulk), and "Still Alive" (LJ Pemberton)
Photo of a flyer for an offsite party I wanted to go to. I didn't end up going to many, as I was worn out by 5pm; I probably have a hundred screenshots and photos and saved posts and other ephemera for offsites, somehow thinking any of that would be useful, and it wasn't. Or only a couple times, but ofc those two times will inspire me to do all that again next time, probably π«

Last for now; realizing I forgot my (now cold) coffee and my meds π« . So I, uh, ought to do that stuff π
and also some work

Gwen just read in Baltimore, and I am a cheerleader 4 her ofc, but it was one of the best literary readings I've ever seen, real star is born shit: if you want to see a show that is a legitimate incredible time, real entertainment like the movies, and for free, make room in yr schedule for this

Persona by Aoife Josie Clements painting of a woman's face with the top of her head disappearing.
My copy of Persona from @littlepuss.net delivered while I was in Baltimore. I've been looking forward to this one for actual months.

At the @littlepuss.net reading tonight I simply asked @catfitzpatrick.net which books I should have and then bought those, 100000/10 could not recommend more highly as a trans lit sommelier

Last night's all-trans/NB offsite #AWP reading was amaaaazing! No doubt in my mind it was THE place to be - the pieces read were horny and weird, tender and freaky, violent and funny and emotional - seriously, nobody does it like trans women, much respect!! β€οΈβπ₯π³οΈββ§οΈβ€οΈβπ₯π³οΈββ§οΈβ€οΈβπ₯

A Fucked Concept
Emily Zhou's debut short story collection demystifies life among the overeducated, underpaid NYC trans women you envy online.
"A life affirming book, because its characters all take the risk of trying to be someone, trying to get to know others, and trying to do something, even the most minimal thing, to go a bit deeper. Most of them arenβt exactly happy, but they are living." Ty @gingermophobia.bsky.social!
