That being said ofc metrics about concurrent players on singleplayer games are not really meaningful except in the context of time (like if it’s a current trend, a meme or just part of the zeitgeist)
People play the game, finish/stop and move on to the next shiny singleplayer game and that is ok 😁
Yeah! I mean folks have been always excited about good singleplayer games, that never changed.
Publishers of GaaS/F2P/Multiplayer games just keep pushing that narrative (bc ofc relatively speaking there is potentially way more money to earn there)
Ofc reality is more complex and Apple is not at fault for how people perceive LLMs, but Apple played a big role in reinventing the smartphone and the app-centric world we live in now and it made everyone not more tech-savvy what people would like to believe.

I guess I was too vague on the statement, what I mean is that by dumbing down how software operates, hiding everything behind nice UI we got way too comfortable with software. And I feel this comfort makes people loose interest/blind to what software is.
It is not sentient or anxious. It might generate a text saying that. A text that perfectly resembles humanly written speech the machine was trained on.
People have absolutely no clue how software works (anymore) and I blame Apple and the app-ification of everything for it

ofc a special case since this is an adaption of the books but here it matters even more imo, I play the games to become this person and not project myself onto a husk. Imagine playing something like Spider-Man and the main guy would either be silent or stoic, I WANT those funny/dumb witty commets

Goes into a similar direction: really awkward when the protagonist does talk but is superstoic for that very reason like Geralt in the Witcher games. If one has read the books, this guy is really talkative, funny and has an actual personality

I get you, it really is annoying how the term AI has been muddied, especially in the game/gamedev sphere. Back then it would boil down to enemies/NPC/agents with state machines or behavior trees etc and now you gotta check what that actually means
