Love the underlying message that the UK is culturally richer together with Europe. It doesn't abandon Brit culture but shows that alone we're left with biscuits and beans. We see how much better things are when we include what Europe has to offer, speaking directly to the anti-Brexit sentiment ❤️

I put the finishing touches on my 6yo’s very low key home made Max Meow by @johnbgallagher.bsky.social costume today! Really proud of this. Learned how to badly appliqué and there’s a stuffed, tie on tail with attached stuffed lightning bolt that I didn’t take a photo of.
It’s been a challenge in the past but we have learned a lot of lessons from the previous ppl who’ve taken it on. We hope the prep we’ve done this time will make it easier next time!
Prep included:
- 900 line python script to deal with team sorting according to preferences, buddy pairing and role
- lots and lots and lots of fancy spreadsheets
- a series of short videos covering every role in a games studio
- how tos for GitHub, Planner, and other tools
- setting up a help desk
It’s absolutely immense. I have a great team with me but as the senior member of staff the buck stops with me 😅
First day of the huge @staffsgames.bsky.social Collaborative Games Development module today (~850 students, 38 teams, ~60 staff, all game dev disciplines) kicked off smoothly today and all the preparation we put in has been worth it. I’m so relieved. I’m excited to see the games the students make!
