I used to manage wine programs for movie theaters and I am in the extremely unique position to say with professional certainty that the answer here is a crisp AlbariΓ±o.
My tweet from 2023: I asked if it was offensive to eat a Pop-Tart in front of the @PopTartsBowl mascot and then its handler yelled out "ITS THEIR DREAM" and then the mascot grabbed a Pop-Tart out of my hand and started force-feeding it to me while making soft grunting noises. Picture of me being fed a pop tart by a Pop tart
Happy Pop-Tarts Bowl Day to all who celebrate

One of the terrible things about the conservative elitesβ attacks on higher education is that they are giving their constituents the impression that the universe isnβt big, complicated, and fascinating β that it really does take this many people to work out how even a small fraction of it works
The Bluesky Dictionary is tracking every single word used on the social media service. As of this writing, almost 40% of the dictionary has been covered, including recent additions like βboneshakersβ, βmicroscaleβ, and βstriationsβ. (via @gretchenmcc.bsky.social) [avibagla.com]
Four year olds are not too old for picture books. A beautiful book was turned down by someone in the shop yesterday due to the child being about to start school, and therefore "too old" for picture books.
Please don't force children to give up picture books too quickly.

I fear this is also me.
Erasing books, libraries, museums is but a step in the erasure of people.
Protect these institutions at all costs to protect people.
Nothing like a good language joke to cleanse the timeline... π₯²

I have heard so many newer writersβincluding extremely good ones!βbemoan that they think they're a failure because they might have to throw out a half-finished draft and start over.
Throwing out a draft is
a) very very normal and
b) progress, not failure.
That Sunday afternoon slide when you go from having big plans for the weekend to assessing the absolute minimum you can get away with doing.
a picture of a book text. The text says "Suetonius adds that, according to some reports, he said in Greek 'Kai su, teknon' (which Shakespeare turned into the Latin 'Et tu, Brute'. It literally means 'You too, child', but what Caesar may have intended by the words isnt clear. Tempest cites 'an important article' by James Russell (1980) 'that has often been overlooked'. Russel points out that the words kai su often appear on curse tablets, and suggest that Caesar's putative last words were not 'the emotional parting declaration of a betrayed man to one he had treated like a son' but more along the lines of 'See you in hell, punk'.
Once again loving this interpretation of Caesarβs last words

I work in higher ed, have a faculty spouse. What's happening at the federal level is beyond alarming. If you care about higher ed (and all the benefits of world-class research, like medicine, health, tech, etc.), you need to pay attention and SPEAK UP NOW. Do not take higher ed for granted. π
I truly think people donβt realize how many universities and colleges β especially public ones β may shut down if restrictions on and withholding of federal funding persists for even one presidency
We are facing the demolition of American higher education
i appreciate anyone who's trying in 2025
