Electric buses are passing a brutal cold-weather test in Wisconsin Madison is proving electric buses can run through cold winters, providing a blueprint for zero-emissions transit in other frigid locales.

In 2024, the city of Madison deployed 62 electric buses that have withstood even -24 degrees. With better batteries and more strategic charger placements, Madison makes strides in their goal of net zero emissions by 2050.
