The Koties (these felines) share their thoughts through the Towers (obelisks), which serve as their mental libraries, storing the memories of many. Sensing their death, they have a choice: to share their full story and soul with the world, or to fade into oblivion. The Towers can be seen as a form of eternal life after death, and each of them decides whether to enter it or disappear forever, leaving only fragments of their thoughts, once imprinted in the Tower's network or shared by other's impressions. Vewis always had troubles with the Towers, with many overwhelming voices that scare him too much to speak, and I think the very idea of having his imprint in it terrifies him. And now, it is time for Vewis to finally decide whether he wants to tell his full story or let it dissapear with him. He is alone for a long time, Atram is no longer here to support him, to help him see the pros and cons, to suggest something. Now, it is entirely Vewis' decision, and he does not know what to do. Decision-making has never been his strong side; he is used to trust his feelings and is unable to make a choice when they are so conflicting.

Old Vewis facing a choice - to share his story, or to let it dissapear in oblivion. The story which he kept in secret for years, now being the only one left to know and remember...
