Our AI issue is snaking its way onto your local mega-algorithmic storefront for purchase.
60+ contributions of 500-word flash fiction and poetry on artificial intelligence, brought to you by your favorite new and returning WFQ authors.
Robot lovers, hive minds, cursed math, we have it all!
We've been quiet about our upcoming AI issue for far too long.
No longer!
This will be available for purchase in the next week or so. It's one of our better collections and the writers nailed the theme with a variety of takes on our new robot overlords.
Day 19! I read Above, and Beyond by @renfestklingon.bsky.social published by @weirdfictionquarterly.com. Obsession is a dangerous thing. Taking on another man's obsession even more so. Read my review here:

If you backed the original Kickstarter, we'll be getting out PDFs and ePubs to backers this weekend, and will be shipping physical copies this next week.
If you need some good news this weekend, "Experimental Files", an anthology of short stories inspired by @gemmafiles.bsky.social's "Experimental Film" is now available.
Edited by Sarah Walker and Elizabeth Mitchell, all profit generated by this book will be donated to autism research efforts.
On this holiday Eve, we circle back to our "Ghosts" issue with "Subject 42" from Lisa Morton.

We're kicking off our 2025 Yuletide celebration with a ghost story from @renfestklingon.bsky.social.
We'll be publishing these daily into the new year, so subscribe to the newsletter (it's free!) so that you don't miss one.

We kicked this off in 2023 with "13 Days of Weird Flash".
If you haven't subscribed to our newsletter already, you have a couple days to do so, as WFQ will be dropping some free stories there for the holidays, as we've done the past few years.
If you wanted to check out WFQ before buying an issue, here's your chance!

While the editors are fine-tuning the upcoming AI issue, your pals at WFQ have put together a new site called indiehorror.co that highlights the independent presses and writers crafting new stories regularly.
Looking for something weird or scary to scratch that reading itch? Look no further!
Don't miss this!

And if you are a publisher yourself, we're happy to review your books to return the favor. We recognize that spending time to read 200+ pages of flash fiction isn't a nominal investment in time, and we'd like to find folks for whom we can return the favor.
We are able to make review copies available in EPUB and PDF. We have a limited budget for sending reviewers physical copies, but that's limited to reviewers with extenuating circumstances where an electronic copy may not work. (Let us know if that's the case when you DM us.)
We're not just looking for reviews in print - if you are a podcaster, content creator on a platform like YouTube or TikTok, or if you publish your own magazine and would like to include a review as content, GET IN TOUCH.
A couple of caveats: we're looking for folks to help us get the word out - this isn't one of those things where we send free books out and don't follow-up to see if they were actually reviewed. We'll be requesting links to the reviews and folks that follow through keep getting copies to review.
Weird Fiction Quarterly's "The King in Yellow" is now available.
With the release of the our new King in Yellow issue, we're looking to get it into the hands of some reviewers!
If you write about weird fiction and/or review books and what we're doing looks like it may be of interest to your readers, DM us with your details (URL) and we'll see if it's a good fit.
The King in Yellow requests your presence in His Court.
(Now available in print at Amazon.)
