Dec. 7 is not over yet, so I will say that the 1941 sneak attack on Pearl Harbor was a brilliantly conceived and courageously executed operation reflecting the highest credit on the Imperial Navy in particular and the Japanese armed services as a whole.

Anti-Wokism was a potent tool for NatCons, but it allowed plenty of snakes into the garden. Democrats such as yourself are better off without Nellie Bowles and Bari Weiss and other self-promoters who have made themselves over as fixtures of la droite réactionnaire.

The creation of the Harris-Cheney-Goldman Sachs axis this fall made it clear that there is no difference between Neo-Conservatism and Neo-Liberalism. Both terms should be retired, and neocons and neoliberals should henceforth be referred to as America Lasters.

Fletcher Christian was a mutinous dog who led a criminal hijacking of the H.M.S. Bounty. William Bligh was a credit to the Royal Navy whose leadership of the loyal crew members in the open boat was one of the greatest feats in maritime history.

Here's hoping he gets a chance to elaborate these views during his trial for perjury, destruction of evidence, and failure to register under F.A.R.A., for starters.

I guess a pair of menacing hands emerging from behind a curtain just above the head of a sleeping character is a horror movie trope that didn't survive the silent era because four-poster beds went out of fashion. But they should bring it back. That was a great effect.

Bluesky could stand out by becoming the only social medium that doesn't discourage outbound links. Every other site wants to keep you stuck, but the old dotcom ethos was to encourage discovery by letting people go their way. Bluesky needs something. It's just Twitter without a two-decade head start.

I think he's just attributing Bluesky's technical problems to rapid traffic growth. But because he didn't say that specifically, he's getting dragged for trivializing The Struggle. Bluesky is definitely a refuge for patient and reasonable people who only breath through their nostrils.

This is the key issue. I want to stress that I wish Bluesky all the success this fallen world can give. But they're selling what is in all important respects an exact copy of Twitter, without two+ decades of first-mover advantage. Bluesky's only advantage is Musk's blunder in renaming Twitter.

The value to these networks is in the expropriated labor/personal information of the users. And it's just not easy to get people to commit to the network with enough energy and in sufficient numbers, especially when your network is a dupe of the already successful network. Again, I wish them luck.

I believe the U.S.A. leads or once led the international community for liberality of bankruptcy terms. (That is, you make the creditors as right as possible and wait seven years and then you get a fresh start.) Am I wrong about that?

What is Jack up to these days? I haven't seen him around in a dog's age.

Greetings, Snowflakes! I recently discovered in real life that the hype about the Menendez Brothers is true. Apparently, all American women under the age of 30 believe there are circumstances where it's OK to shoot your parents in the back of the head, because they saw it in Netflix.
