Don't you hate when you're pulling ambiences and you find the "perfect" one and you slap it in your timeline and you're like "Yeah, this is exactly right for this scene!" and as the scene plays you hear it... the sound that doesn't belong... the one that makes you work for that ambience to stay 😞

Thankful to be so full of things to be thankful for including all of you in my life.

Sometimes I wish I just had an SD card attached to my ears... I heard the most wondrous Goose Symphony this morning while walking the dog

NYU insisted I hold class tonight... I felt bad that a support staff of people would have to be in the building for my class... so... I'm hosting a Zoom class with them where my students get to get a look at my home studio and the fun toys I have here and not at NYU 😀 Win/Win if you ask me

after a many many hours/days/weeks??? approximately 2,788 sounds have been re-organized/re-cataloged ... now to determine how to proceed

Copying my sound effects library to a bigger drive, relinking files to a session.. exciting Friday night if you ask me 🤣😜🤣

Ben Burtt, Dane Davis.. obvious... Also Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Korn... just the world in general, I love listening and trying to create the beautiful chaos I hear

Half of my frustration with reorganizing my sound effects library in Soundminer is coming from the fact that I most likely messed it up the first time organizing it in Soundminer while not knowing what the heck I was doing 🤣 Sometimes we are the source of our troubles

Still re-organizing my sound effects... thought it was organized, but... yeah 🤨 Thanks from some helpful videos from @sonofex.bsky.social I've upped my Soundminer workflow game and the process isn't going to horribly 🤪

The convo eased common fears about entering the professional world. So grateful they volunteered time/shared their experiences. It’s inspiring bringing pros in, something especially impactful about students w alumni just some years ahead. Makes it within reach, convos more relatable, encouraging.

4 former students came to NYU’s mix room to share how their career paths have evolved since graduation. Watching them talk about their journeys made me incredibly proud. They gave my current students a chance to ask questions not only about their jobs but about those years post-graduation.

Had that issue with bathroom plumbing when we bought our house. Ended up having to replace the whole bathtub and shower

Ugh... I have to get our roof looked into and I'm afraid that will be the response
