Public procurement should be dull.

An interesting session with @claudeai.bsky.social today. A major feature addition to edit persistent JSON data to correct errors and remove duplicates. Claude planned a new UI but it took a couple of attempts. When it failed I posted a screenshot or a copy of the exception. Got there OK.

Wood burners have their place, but not in urban areas. Not operated properly, they can be a real nuisance?
Lobbyists send legal threats to councils over anti-wood burner campaigns www.theguardian.com/environment/...
Interesting 'Sideways' this morning. Did you catch it

and @philipgoff.bsky.social ?

As in, "look, a squirrel!"
The link seems to be as ethereal as consciousness. Or perhaps my internal homunculus is just impatient.
The first thing that came to mind on hearing the news this morning were Tom Lehrer lyrics.
BTW how is plot 29 (or a new version) doing? Still miss your Guardian pieces.
Of course, it is unlawful.
Even the "pre-emptive" justification is half-hearted guff.
Of course, it is stupid.
Wise US politicians once realised a rules-based international order was in their interests. That is being thrown away.
And most of all, and regardless of the above, it is wrong.
I just took a look at #Claude Connectors. We truly live in amazing times. #Anthropic took a moral stand yesterday. Glad I took out a Pro subscription. At least *I* will be on the right side of #AI history.
Go Wolves ! Still too little too late to erase the ignominy of impending relegation ?
Interesting article. Could mistral.ai get ahead of the US dominated #AI sector? I wonder what @anthropic.com #Claude 'thinks' about it?
Remarkable. Not sure it is a 'breaking the mould of British politics' moment, yet. The May council elections will now be even more interesting (in the Chinese curse sense for Labour).

"But to carry on pretending that the public have nothing to do with any of this dysfunction β as media consumers, as voters β is to accept a caricature of democratic politics, which suits rightwing populismβs narrative of endless betrayal by elites and outsiders"

#Claude CLI just took only 20 minutes 'thinking' plus 5 brief Q&A planning sessions to recreate a live timing results screen that took me weeks to code (in VB dot NET) for a legacy solution. TBF some of the code was already in place for the data capture anyway, but impressive.

The Representation of the People Bill is a rare chance to renew our democracy - yet it ignores the voting system driving chaos and disillusionment.
We need MPs standing up for fair votes in this upcoming debate. Urge your MP to attend: actionnetwork.org/letters/repr...
A proper four letter fellow. Pick your option,
These people are poison. They will unleash racist thugs on the streets of this country and call it security. They will subjugate us to the US and call it patriotism. They must be stopped. There is no more important task in politics.
I watched the last rays of the sun on our 'sunset bench' . The clouds were tinged with salmon pink and a blackbird sang in the gloaming. Crescent moon overhead. A hypericum and penstemon moved to make the terrace replanted in the front garden. A GOOD day.
Your #AI thought/quote for the day.

Misconducting in public office
An ancient offence in the news - and how it usually is used only for junior officials
By me

Thanks for the analysis. "Wilfully" [1], seems the very essence of the matter. Ignorance of the law is usually not a defence. "Recklessly" may certainly be a factor.
I await developments with interest.
[1] As pivotal perhaps as "reasonable" is in much environmental protection legislation,
In my experience, limited to a University of the Third Age Philosophy Group, sooner or later every discussion ended up at the same 'eternal question' posed by 'philosophy of mind'. Or to quote Cat Stevens: "Keep on pushing hard boy, try as you may; you're going to wind up where you started from".
Quite right. Even humble EHO's can do the questioning under caution thing. It often concentrate's the mind of the recalcitrant and uncooperative.
That will be worth waiting for. I'm sure you have a goodly supply of dotted i's and crossed t's.
I hear what you say. That's what comes of reinventing the C wheel to show off π Now try actually getting it to write some code, in a language you are familiar with, for a task you have specified well.
Glances at Claude CLI writing 1000s of lines of code to my exact specification. Works for me. Oh, and less of the 'our' generation up there ^ , says a 'boomer'. Oh hang on I suppose this place mostly is Gen X ;)
