I recall the Arab oil embargo of 1973 and I got a lot of college work hours pulling documents for a big comprehensive energy index our uni put together. It seemed like a good idea at the time to develop alternatives to oil. Oh well.

I like veggie gardening but suspect I couldn’t feed myself (weirdly) for quite two weeks with what I grow. I could probably double that if I got a bit more intensive about it.
My cousin’s kid and his family have gotten back here safely. They were in Saudi Arabia, working at the embassy.
It took awhile.

I have a theory that the military and defense-minded politicians want to have a war every 20 years or so to see just how all their new killing hardware works in a real theater.
Especially with the way both parties have to out-eager the other to shovel ever-huger budgets to the Pentagon.
It’s never stopped them from warmongering before.
It’s baffling that republicans have any remaining shreds of posing as fiscally responsible.
One of those deferred folks is my neighbor. She said during the first Trump administration. She was so stressed she was physically ill a lot. She made the right decision for herself, but overall this isn’t good for the American people.
Like, the guy is ignorant even by Oklahoma standards.
I have a cousin who has a son (who sends me Christmas cards!) who works for the State Department and is posted with his family in the Middle East. I don’t have the heart to ask her what his situation is.

The amount of cortisol my body has flooded my brain with in the 5+ years of his presidencies would probably fill a swimming pool. I know it’s harmful but I can’t look away.
