I am heartbroken by what has happened at the agency since January, and I am afraid that the changes in the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices will have devastating consequences for public health. There still are thousands of smart and dedicated people at CDC, doing the same excellent work they have always done, but between the violent August 8 attack on the agency and the removal of the CDC Director and resignations of three senior leaders, it is a difficult place to be now. Thinking of my former colleagues and the agency that I still love, even though current leadership seem intent on destroying it.
💔 CDC continues to lose our best and brightest as science, health, and the American people remain under attack.
