I know it's a "small" thing, but if you want to know why people are losing faith in democracy, it's this. Most people want to stop changing the clocks. It's harmful to life and limb. It could be done in a day.
But for years, this has dragged on with no change. Of course people are cynical.
I'll also note that daylight savings is a symptom of the godawful death grip that boomers have on our politics. I read one forum discussing it and it was a bunch of retired people saying, "don't care, so why bother changing it?"
