Alright but once you see it you can't unsee it! Here's iPhone vs Indigo processing. It's usually faces that are small, in the distance that get the demon treatment. The iPhone just tries so, so hard to make this poor guy's sunglasses his eyes.
I think the Pixel 9 has a slight edge! Lots of folks complain that the Samsung camera is still too slow with moving subjects, personally I think it’s about the same as most other phone cameras. But the pixel does more to try and get a sharp face.

First of all congrats!!! Ooo honestly the Pixel 9 Pro and any Galaxy S25 would be a good choice. I like the portrait mode a bit better on the Samsung, and I started using portrait mode waaaay more when my kid was born. Pixel camera is a little snappier though, feel like it’s the better all-rounder
