It actually doesn't persist by default.
You must have added 'poke(0x5f2e, 1)' somewhere.
This is the line that persists the palette. Just remove it, it isn't needed to change the palette or use the secret colours.

I wouldn't say "moved" to picotron, but I'm currently working on a project in it. I'll likely jump between the two depending on what I fancy working on at the time!

In theory yes! In practice generating the animation data referencing the skin pixels is time consuming and tricky enough even for a single character. But yeah certainly possible depending on the designs, especially for smaller and simpler characters.
Yeah the thinner platforms don't block the light.

Graphics are stored not as an array of pixel colours, but pixel indices to a "skin" graphic. Allows just this skin to be updated and all animations reflect the new colours. Also left/right asymmetry can be kept no matter flip direction! #indiedev #gamedev #picotron #pico8

I linked the manual entry, but basically just include the extra files in the export command.
Ah yeah that's a lua out of memory error. Most likely because you deleted a function body and caused some issue with parens8 parsing or something.
Hi, do you mean out of tokens/bytes when exporting? Or out of memory lua message when running? If the former, I know I was pretty close to the pico8 limits by the end so adding anything without taking away something else might be very tricky.
